RISK FOR COMMUNITY REWARD FOR GREATER IMPACT THE FIELD FORWARD LOCAL INITIATIVES SUPPORT CORPORATION, TWIN CITIES

FOR THREE DECADES WE'VE BEEN AT THE LEADING EDGE OF TWIN CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WE WERE FOUNDED TO GROW THE FIELD, AND WE SUCCEEDED For its size, this region boasts some of the most sophisticated and comprehensive community development in the country. Now we face a new challenge guiding all that creative energy to ensure a better quality of life for everyone in the Twin Cities. We support this dynamic field on three fronts: real estate development, financial stability, and neighborhood vitality. LISC works across the region, but 70% of our investments support efforts in lower-income Minneapolis and St. Paul neighborhoods and people. Undergirding all our strategies is an unshakable commitment to racial equity. OUR TOOLKIT INVESTMENTS NETWORKS RESEARCH POLICY OUR IMPACT IN THE TWIN CITIES $550 MILLION IN GRANTS, LOANS AND EQUITY INVESTED $2.2 BILLION LEVERAGED 13,800 NEW OR PRESERVED AFFORDABLE HOMES & APARTMENTS 1.7 MILLION SQUARE FEET OF NEW OR RENOVATED COMMERCIAL AND COMMUNITY SPACE 6,900 PEOPLE IMPROVED THEIR FINANCIAL STABILITY THROUGH FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY CENTERS

A B OLD I N V E STOR When community developers need early support for higher RISK/higher reward projects, they come to us. Our early investment often leverages other investors, creating a tipping point. When no financial tools exist to meet a need, we help create new tools to fill those gaps. WE T U RN E V ERY D OL L AR I NV E ST E D IN US I NTO $ 10 FO R L O CA L C OM M UNI T Y DEV E L O P ME N T P R OJEC T S " The 15-year partnership between Aeon and Hope Community was critical for the success of the South Quarter, most recently The Rose. Twin Cities LISC contributed in more ways than we can count. As a result, the physical development changed the face of the neighborhood, and hundreds of adults and youth are engaged in building stronger lives and a stronger community. ALAN ARTHUR CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AEON MARY KEEFE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HOPE COMMUNITY

A NET W O R K B UI L DER We're on the ground, we listen. We strive to UNITE strong peer networks and serve as a trusted broker among community developers, public entities, philanthropy, private finance, and communities. The collaborations we help seed and support solve problems together; share information and inspire action; and enthusiastically advance a community-driven agenda. I N T HIS F IE L D R E LAT IO N S HI P S C A N W IN T H E D AY " Being a member of the LISC Creative Placemaking cohort gives JXTA the opportunity to share thinking, problem solve, gripe, and celebrate with colleagues who are doing similar work in similar places. This work is hard and can be lonely. It can feel like you re the only person out there doing it, so the chance for fellowship with others who are trying for the same impact is invaluable." DEANNA CUMMINGS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER JUXTAPOSITION ARTS ROGER CUMMINGS CHIEF CULTURAL PRODUCER JUXTAPOSITION ARTS

AN I NNOVATION D RIVER Using our local expertise and LISC's national research, we scout break-through ideas, new methods, and better solutions. We help PROPEL the field forward. Driving comprehensive and integrated strategies in communities takes support, flexibility, and creative adaptation. We know what it takes to advance stronger delivery systems.
