NEW! ALD Call for Papers Submission Process Submission Instructions Follow these instructions to submit your abstract. Be sure to make a note of your login information as it will allow you to return to your submission until the submission deadline of June 30, 2016. Submission site: http://bit.ly/ald2017 (bookmark this link for easy access) 1. Create an account as shown in the image below. 2. After you have created your account, login as shown below. Click the Continue button. 3. Be sure to make a note of your login in a convenient location. You may login as needed up until the deadline of June 30, 2016. ALD 2017 Call for Papers Instructions 1
You will be taken to the Home page. This page will show you a list of your submissions, once they have been created. You may return to a submission, whether it is complete or incomplete, at anytime up until the deadline. After the deadline you will no longer have access to your abstract. There are three types of submissions to select from: General topic Scientific Research Clinical Abstract Begin a submission by clicking Submit an Abstract Here for the appropriate submission type. You will be taken to the Attestation Page where you must agree to the statements by checking each box. Then proceed to enter your submission Title at the bottom of the page. You will not be able to continue until all of the boxes are checked and the title has been entered. Click Save and Continue to advance to the next page. ALD 2017 Call for Papers Instructions 3
Step: Title Note the numbered elements, in the image below, that will appear on all subsequent pages. 1. Submission Steps tells you where you are in the submission process. You may click any step, but be sure to save your work before doing so. The image shows that we are currently on the Title step. 2. Currently Editing tells you what type of submission you have created. In this example a Scientific Research submission has been started. 3. Make a note of the Control number (or abstract number) as it will be used to reference your abstract in notifications from ALD. Also reference it when making an inquiry. Read the instructions, review the title, then click Save and Continue to advance to the next step. ALD 2017 Call for Papers Instructions 4
Step: Tracks This Step is where you select your desired Track. The track options may change slightly depending upon the submission type. For this example of Scientific Research, the track options are: Aesthetic Dentistry Diode Endodontics Hygiene Laser Safety Pediatrics Periimplantitis Periodontology Photobiomodulation (PBM) CBCT Technology Digital Imaging Technology Make your selection then click Save and Continue to advance to the next step. Step: Author Enter your contact and professional information here. Disclose any affiliations or financial or commercial interest. If you have nothing to disclose, be sure to check the box that says I Have Nothing to Disclose. Click Save and Continue to view the Author summary page. The image below shows only a portion of the screen. You will be required to provide organization, contact, and disclosure information further down the page. Step: Author (continued) Once you have entered the primary author information, you will be taken to the Author summary screen where you have the option to enter additional author information. As shown in the image below, click Add Author to make an addition. If at anytime, the primary author changes, click Change who is Presenting where you will may re-order the authors. You may add up to 9 additional authors. Step: Biography Enter the biography of the primary presenter in narrative format. The information you enter will be included in the onsite program guide. Step: Presentation Preference Select your presentation preference. The choices may differ slightly based on the submission type. 1. Select the Presentation Preference: Lecture Poster Hands-on Workshop 2. Select the preferred length of the presentation: 15 minutes 30 minutes 45 minutes 1 hour 2 hours 3 hours 3. Select the intended audience: Novice laser user Advanced laser user Both novice and advanced laser users 4. Provide the laser wavelength, manufacturer, and Model (e.g., CO2-10,600 LightScalpel; CO2-9.3 Convergent; Er,Cr:YSGG - 2780 nm, Biolase, Iplus) 5. Indicate to have your presentation recorded, if available. 6. Indicate any special scheduling request (e.g., religious or academic) 7. Click Save and Continue ALD 2017 Call for Papers Instructions 8
Step: Abstract Enter your abstract information. It is recommended that you enter your abstract in a word processing program to check for spelling and grammar before copying and pasting into your submission. You may also upload a file or image. Read the instructions thoroughly before entering your abstract. Requirements differ based on the submission type. The image below shows only a portion of the Abstract step. Step: Review My Work Your submission is complete. This page provides a summary of your submission. Here, you have the option to: Send yourself a confirmation of your submission Print your submission You may return to your submission at anytime to make modifications or to complete it up until the submission deadline of June 30, 2016.
