As part of a series of events marking this important anniversary, 550 ceramic poppies will be installed in front of the cenotaph in Goderich. The project is based on the 2014 art installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red by artists Paul Cummins and Tom Piper at the Tower of London. Each of the 550 ceramic poppies, made by community volunteers, represents a life lost from Huron County in the First World War. The poppies will be in place from September 22 until November 2, after which they will be divided among the different cenotaphs across Huron County. Find out more about the commemorative events at: https://www.facebook.com/161battalion/
