Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) August 27 & 28, 2016 Online Course Access & Preparation Registrants will be sent an email from the ALSO staff prior to the course with a link to the Online Learning Portion. ALSO Provider Course An educational program designed to enhance cognitive and procedural skills of health care professionals to help them manage obstetrical emergencies. This course is directed primarily toward maternity care providers including physicians, nurses, and certified nurse midwives. Overall Course Objectives Discuss ways of improving the management of obstetrical urgencies and emergencies which may help standardize the skills of practicing maternity care providers; Discuss the importance of utilizing regional maternity care services and identify possible barriers which might limit access; and Successfully complete the course written test and megadelivery testing station. Detailed educational objectives are listed at the beginning of each ALSO course syllabus chapter. Participants requiring special accommodations should contact Continuing Medical Education & Professional Development, as early as possible.
