The Saints Weekly Digest Re-Enrollment Begins Today It s time to enroll at Saint Dominic Academy. The enrollment period (if applying for financial aid) will take place from January 12 to February 12. Applications will be accepted for financial aid and scholarship through FACTS for the 2017-2018 academic year at this time. If you would like to be considered for financial aid or scholarships, you must apply during this time. If you do not wish to apply for financial aid, you have until March 30 to reenroll. We sent an email earlier this week informing you that our Board voted for a modest costof-living tuition increase of $150 (per year) per student. This will allow us to provide our teachers and staff with a raise. Meanwhile, we will continue to keep all other costs down. Please contact Marilyn.Beauparlant@portlanddiocese.org if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued trust and support of Saint Dominic Academy! THIS WEEK S TOP STORIES Middle School Information Night for 6th Graders by Shelly.Wheeler@portlanddiocese.org You are invited to join us for a Middle School Information Night on Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons at the Auburn campus. As you know, St. Dom's 7th grade is located in Auburn at our middle school/high school campus. I recognize that this can be a

stressful change for parents and students who have been at our Lewiston campus for many years, as well as a time of uncertainty regarding your choices for middle school. Our middle school has been transforming over the past two years and may be different than what you might expect. I would like to invite you to hear about what our middle school has to offer, our plan to keep middle school students separate from the high school students, and our innovative approaches to a first-class education including dedicated STREAM classes and weekly study skills classes. We recognize that a St. Dom's education is an investment for our families and we want to make sure you're completely informed of everything St. Dom's middle school has to offer. We will have current middle school students on hand to give tours, middle school teachers will be available to answer your specific classroom questions, and administration will be available to discuss college preparation and academics, extracurricular opportunities, and financial aid. If you have any questions, please contact Principal Shelly Wheeler at 782-6911. St. Dom's realizes it is not only important to challenge students but to do so in a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive. We hope you will join us to see first-hand what makes St. Dom's different. This meeting is for current and prospective St. Dom's middle school students, so feel free to invite a friend that may be considering a St. Dom's education! Teacher Workshop Day Canceled In an effort to make up academic time lost due to snow days and power outages, we are making the teacher workshop day scheduled for Monday, January 22 a regular school day. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience. We feel it is in the best interest of our students to sustain their post-holiday momentum right now, rather than make up any days at the end of the school year. We will serve regular lunch on this day. It has been updated on RenWeb so Lewiston families may place their order for students. St. Dom s Winter Carnival Enjoy s mores and hot chocolate by the fire pit, build a snowman, watch or participate in the cardboard sled race, play games, climb through the National Guard obstacle course, try your skill at indoor bowling, check out our pottery demonstration, see our robotics team in

action, or attend one of our sports clinics. It s all part of the fun at our second Winter Carnival on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Dom s Auburn campus. At 4:50 p.m., the action moves to Norway Savings Bank Arena where we re hosting a FREE public skate and hockey clinics lead by our hockey teams. We hope you ll all join us for this fun family event. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors! Everyone is welcome to attend. The more, the merrier! Cardboard Sled Race by jennifer.cyr@portlanddiocese.org

Attention Auburn campus students - It is almost race time! Time to get your sleds ready for the big Cardboard Sled Race held during this year s Winter Carnival. Last year, the students that participated in the race had a blast, join in the fun.
