Tuition Reimbursement Tuition Reimbursement is available to encourage and support the pursuit of advanced education that will enhance job performance. The annual reimbursement amount for full-time employees of six months is $2,000. Part-time employees of six months $1,000. Employees enrolled in a BSN, MSN, DNP or PhD full-time employees of six months are eligible to receive $3,500. Part-time employees of six months are eligible to receive $1,750. Amounts are based on the fiscal budget year (July 1 to June 30) with a maximum allowance of $10,000 per degree. Forms are available from the Clinical Education Department or on the StaffHub, and must be approved prior to the start of class by your Manger and the Clinical Education Department. The approved forms will then be returned to the employee, to be submitted at the end of the semester with original receipts and a transcript of grades (C or better) for reimbursement. For complete details, see HR Policy 653 Educational Reimbursement. Outside Training Outside Training expenses may be paid for employees to attend seminars, workshops, and specialty training sessions. Approval forms may be obtained from your Manager or Clinical Education Department and must be approved in advance. After completing the Outside Training form, have your Manager sign and forward it to Clinical Education. Upon approval, your request will be processed for payment of registration fees. The residencies vary in length from 12 weeks to six months, and are led by experienced preceptors and highly trained educators who guide the nurse through the development process from advanced beginner to competent practitioner in their specialty. Residencies are available in the areas of Telemetry, Critical Care, Post-Anesthesia, Peri-Operative, Labor and Delivery and the Emergency Department based on unit needs. RN Clinical Ladder The Clinical Ladder is designed to recognize the Staff Registered Nurse at the bedside for excellence in clinical practice. Clinical Advancement Workshops are held annually in August or September for information about advancing to CN III & CN IV. The Clinical Ladder has four classifications: Attend one of the scheduled workshops to learn more about advancement. Clinical Nurse I (CN I) Advanced Beginner Less than one year of nursing experience. Provides nursing care in an effective and safe manner. Clinical Nurse II (CN II) Competent Clinician Provides care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills. Clinical Nurse III (CN III) Proficient Clinician Provides nursing care efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills, as well as demonstrating critical thinking. Clinical Nurse IV (CN IV) Expert Clinician Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and expertise in a specialty, as well as general nursing. Is a leader/resource to nursing and is engaged in unit and hospital activities.
Certification Bonus The Certification Bonus Program is designed to recognize employees for gaining additional knowledge in a clinical specialty beyond their minimum job requirements. Bonuses are available to full and part-time employees after one year of employment. An employee is eligible for two certification bonuses paid out one time in the month of March, the certification(s) must relate to the current area of practice.
