Rubik s Cubes We are missing a few of the Rubik's Cubes from the library mosaic project. Cubes from our set all have a sticker on the middle, white square of one side of the cube. If you borrowed cubes please return it to Mrs. Daane and you will get a treat in exchange. We need to mail back all 225 of the cubes soon so thank you for helping solve the mystery of the missing cubes! Swimming & Dive Team Hello Red Devils! This announcement is for anyone still interested in Swimming and Diving, the team is still open and always looking for new members, if interested please stop by the pool anytime from 3-6PM (except on Tuesdays) for more information. Also, do you need volunteer hours - volunteering with the Swim and Dive team may be the place for you, earn an easy 2.5-3 hours at our home meets by volunteering and helping cheer on your red devils! LGBTQIA The first monthly meeting of Bradford's Gay Straight Alliance will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd after school in the library. All LGBTQIA students and their allies are welcome to attend! See you there! College Corner UW Platteville will be here Tuesday, October 9th in room 219. Sign up outside of room 218 or see Mrs. Mars. Platteville is a campus of about 9,000 students offering 16 Division 3 sports with over 40 majors. Top programs are in Engineering and Agriculture. Students are likely to be admitted if they rank in the top ½ of their class or have an ACT of a 22 or higher. College Corner UW-La Crosse will be visiting Bradford Wednesday, October 10th at 11am in room 219. UW- Lacrosse is a midsize university located by the Mississippi River with around 10,000 students. They are a NCAA division 3 school with sports such as basketball, baseball, football, cross country, wrestling, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball and track and field with over 120 programs; some of their popular ones being Biology, Sport Science & Archaeology. PSAT Testing The PSAT test will be held at Bradford on Wednesday, October 10th at 7:30a.m. Any sophomore or junior interested in taking the PSAT test should sign up in room 151 no later than Friday, October 5th. Juniors who take the test may be eligible for National Merit Scholarship Corporation Programs. The cost is $16.00. Please see your counselor for more information. College Corner Carroll College will be visiting Bradford Thursday, October 11th at 10 am in room 219. Carroll is a private university of about 3,400 students. They offer 22 division 3 sports including cross country, swimming and basketball. They offer a large number of majors. Some include: graphic communications, marine science, theater & arts management and music therapy. Most freshman accepted to Carroll was in the top 50% of their class with an average ACT of an 18. ACT Practice Test Did you know that over 80% of high school students do not take the ACT test until they are required to in high school? Attention juniors and sophomores. Here is your opportunity to take the ACT practice test for free. This will take place on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Bradford. This is a professional learning day for teachers and as students you are off on that day. The Junior test will run from 7:30-11:45 Sophomore test will take place from 12:30 to 2:30. Please sign up in advance of the date in room 151. ASVAB Is Back! Attention Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. The ASVAB is back and will be available for you to take on Wednesday October 24th. The ASVAB is a multi-purpose exam that assists students with a multitude of things. For you seniors, the ASVAB can help provide you with Career Exploration and college decision-making. Juniors, this is a great test to take to help you get prepared for the ACT coming up this spring, and this is also the test for those of you who are interested in joining the military following your high school studies. Best part of the exam is - it's free to take! For information and permission slips, see Mr. Saling in room 216 by October 22nd.
