With all these extra stresses to our already full schedules, I wanted to take a minute to highlight some of the important opportunities for you from ENA. First is our Call for Officers for the 2011 Contents Oregon ENA State Council Board of Directors. We welcome any nominations, both of your colleagues and for yourself, for any of the positions on our board. See the article in this newsletter for all the details. Secondly, the 2010 ENA National Convention is rapidly approaching. Following General Assembly, on September 23-25, ENA Scientific Assembly will be held where we hope to see you in San Antonio. For all the details on the upcoming educational and networking opportunities please visit http://www.ena.org/ coursesandeducation/conferences/annual/2010/pages/ Default.aspx. Additionally, I want to make sure you are aware of a tremendous educational opportunity that Oregon ENA is creating for you. On October 28, 2010 Oregon ENA will be holding the first annual Oregon Leaders Summit. This year we are proud to bring you a nationally acclaimed speaker from the Studor Group, Julie Kennedy. While admission to sessions for this speaker are normally priced in the several hundreds of dollars per seat, Oregon ENA is happily offsetting the costs so that Oregon nurses might be able to take advan- tage of this superior educa- tional opportunity in these dif- ficult financial times. See our article regarding the con- ference for further information and keep an eye on our web- site as more news becomes available. Finally, don t forget that ENA s Na- tional Leadership Conference is coming to Portland, OR in February of 2011. This is a huge honor for Oregon to be able to host this national meeting. We hope to see you there this winter when the national stage comes to our front door! As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about your Emergency Nurses Association or if there is anything with which I can assist you! Bill Light, President 2
