The Lake Township Trustees held a regular meeting Tuesday June 7, 2011. Trustee Bowen called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. in our "New" home. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited. Roll Call: Ronald D. Sims-Present, Richard P. Welling-Present, Melanie R. Bowen-Present, Vicki Schwamberger-Present. The minutes of the May 17, 2011 regular trustee meeting were approved. Correspondence: Trustees received a letter of notification from First Energy. Future Meetings and Events: Lake Township Fire Department will hold a Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station #2, 1911 Ayers Road from 8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. on the following dates: October 16 and November 20, 2011. Farmers Market will open at 27975 Cummings Road on Friday June 17, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. and will run thru October. Doxie Days- dog racing will be held in Friendship Park on Saturday June 18lh at 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dr. Roe will answer questions on vet care of dogs from 2:00 to 3:00 plus a costume contest for dogs. Music in the Park schedule on Fridays: June 17, 24 July 8, 15,22, 29 August 5,12 Music begins at 6:30 p.m. Aqua Terrace will hold a Family Day open house on June 11, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. admission is free. The annual Veteran's Flag burning ceremony will be held in Veteran's Park in Walbridge on June 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

New Business: Starting Resolution will be #73-11. Trustee Welling moved to adopt Resolution #73-11. Whereas: the Lake Township Administration building was destroyed by a tornado on June 5, 2010, and Whereas: Ed Nagle, of Nagle Trucking, opened his facilities on that fateful night to Lake Township's emergency services to operate as a command center during rescue operations, and Whereas: Ed Nagle also had the foresight and compassion to save the American flag that had been displayed in the Township Hall, and Whereas: Ed Nagle has had the Township flag preserved in a frame and donated said flag to the Lake Township Trustees as a reminder of June 5, 2010, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees extend a very appreciative thank you to neighbor and friend Ed Nagle for his thoughtful and caring donation of the preserved American flag from June 5, 2010 to Lake Township. Seconded by Ms. Bowen Trustee Bowen moved to pay the following bills: Warrant #65833 through Warrant#66005 for a total sum of $242,023.19. Trustee Sims moved to adopt Resolution #74-11. Whereas: the rear spring in the 1990 international truck used by Lake Township Road Department is broken and needs replacement, so

Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees have the spring replaced by: Toledo Spring Brake and Alignment Service, 5015 Enterprise Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43612 at a cost not to exceed $800.00. Trustee Welling moved to adopt Resolution #75-11. Whereas: Lake Township Road Department Supervisor, Dan McLargin has requested that the Lake Township Trustees purchase one (1) LineLazer 3400 pavement marker machine, and Whereas: the pavement marker machine will be used to mark Railroad, school and other road markings, a service that Wood County no longer provides, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees purchase one (1) LineLazer 3400 pavement marker machine from Sherwin- Williams, 4780 Woodville Road, North wood, Ohio 43619 for a cost of $3450.00. Seconded by Mr. Sims Trustee Bowen moved to adopt Resolution #76-11. Whereas: the Lake Township Trustees by Resolution #116-07 adopted the Ohio Township Association procedure for damaged mail boxes, and Whereas: F. Eugene Keaton, 29168 Kearsley Street, Millbury, Ohio 43447 has requested reimbursement for a mailbox damaged by a Lake Township snow plow, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the lake Township Trustees wish to authorize payment in the sum of $50.00 to F. Eugene Keaton,

29168Kearsley Street, Millbury, Ohio 43447 as reimbursement for a mailbox damaged by a Lake Township snow plow during removal operations this past winter. Trustee Sims moved to adopt Resolution #77-11. Whereas: Jim Zibble, 1390 Walbridge Road, Millbury, Ohio 43447 has requested to tap the storm sewer tile for the purpose of surface drainage, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees grant permission to Jim Zibble to tap into the storm sewer tile with a four (4") inch tile for the purpose of surface drainage. A 24" x 24" catch basin with a steel grate lid will be installed at the tap. Trustee Welling moved to adopt Resolution #78-11. Whereas: Lake Township is under U.S. E.P.A. Mandate to have a storm water management and implementation plan, and Whereas: the storm water management plan requires Lake Township to sweep designated curbed streets as part of the reduction control measures, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees hire Progressive Sweep, Inc. 1202 Expressway Drive South, Toledo, Ohio 43608 a cost of $2750.00 to sweep 17 miles of designated curbed streets (Eastpointe, Crosswoods, Indian Trails, Cedar Valley, Lakewood, Rockland Drive & Circle Drive, Indian Creek, Country Meadows, Freedom Estates, Argyle Forest and Commodore Drive) once a month in June, August and October. Seconded by Mr. Sims

Trustee Bowen moved to apply for the following grants from the Wood County Parks District: Grant for under $3,000.00 to be used for bleachers and dugout benches for Fireside Park. Grant for $3,000.00 to $10,000.00 to be used for fishing pier at Friendship Park. Grant for over $10,000.00 to be used for additional parking for Friendship Park. Trustee Bowen moved to adopt Resolution #79-11. Whereas: Lake Township is enrolled in the Cooperative Purchasing Program through the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, and Whereas: Lake Township receives substantial cost savings in the purchase of equipment through membership in the Cooperative Purchasing Program, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees renew membership in the Cooperative Purchasing Program and and pay a one hundred ($100.00) administrative fee to the Office of Cooperative Purchasing, 4200 Surface Road, Columbus, Ohio 43228. Trustee Sims moved to adopt Resolution #80-11. Whereas: the Lake Township Trustees by Resolutions #57-11 and 58-11 authorized the purchase and emergency equipping of four (4) 2008 Chevy Tahoes to replace vehicles destroyed during the June 5, 2010 tornado, and

Whereas: the four (4) Chevy Tahoes require Lake Township Police Department markings to properly identify the vehicles, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees hire Vision Quest, P.O. Box 197, Elmore, Ohio 43416 at a cost of $1200.00 to place the proper markings on the four (4) 2008 Chevy Tahoes purchased by Resolution #57-11. Trustee Welling moved to adopt Resolution #81-11. Whereas: the Lake Township Police Department had seven (7) Police vehicles destroyed by the June 5, 2010 tornado, and Whereas: Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer recommends the purchase of two replacement 2008 Chevy Tahoes, and Whereas: the cost of this purchase will be expensed from the Police Fund so, Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees approve the the purchase of two (2) 4WD Chevy Police Tahoes from MUS Surplus Store, 223 Surplus and Recycling Center, East Lansing, MI. 48824 at a cost of $27,800.00. Seconded by Ms. Bowen Discussion: Chief Hummer explained that 2 high mileage old vehicles will be taken out of service. Trustee Sims moved authorize to sell by public auction method (E-Bay) the sale of surplus and seized vehicles under Lake Township ownership or jurisdiction as determined by the Lake Township Police Chief.

Discussion: The seized vehicles, Police Department vehicles and equipment trailer will be available for inspection by the public. They will be moved to the administration building parking lot, prior to the auction. Fire Department Issues: Chief Walter explained that new Pagers are being distributed to the department. Issues from the public: Residents informed Trustees that Woodlake subdivision can't hear tornado sirens. Chief Hummer suggested that residents have weather radio's. The One Call Now will be used for notification of severe weather if time permits. A presentation to the Board of Trustees by Park Supervisor Ron Hanely of stuffed Pink Flamingos in "memory" of the time spent in the construction trailer. Road Supervisor Dan McLargin said there is a big problem with grass clippings in Ditches. Chief Hummer reiterated that this is illegal and a citable offense. Heard from resident Randy St. John regarding the disarray of abandoned property in the Freedom Estate subdivision owned by Mr. Mather. Trustee Welling explained the O.R.C. process of getting action taken by the owner. Trustee Bowen moved to adjourn meeting at 6:15 p.m.
