6 th Annual Pedal With Purpose Fundraising Event presented by ARCADIS WWW.CROWDRISE.COM/PEDALWITHPURPOSE Overview: This year, Pedal With Purpose is using CrowdRise to coordinate donations. CrowdRise is an online crowd-funding tool that provides a user-friendly interface for managing the overall fundraising campaign, and for each rider to manage their own fundraiser as part of the Pedal With Purpose team. Donations: CrowdRise allows for online donations to be made securely with a credit card in the name of a rider or to Pedal With Purpose generally. Donations processed online are preferred due to simplicity; the money goes straight to Water For People, and CrowdRise issues a receipt. If you are given checks or cash as donations, you will need to track them with the Offline Donation Manager tool on your CrowdRise fundraiser page. This tool (explained below) allows you to manually add offline donations to your fundraiser page and include them with your online donations in tracking your progress. However, the Offline Donation Manager is ONLY a way to track the amount of money you have received in checks and cash, and does not actually contribute the funds you enter to WFP. Offline donations will be collected at the Pedal With Purpose Team Dinner the night before El Tour (Friday 11/22/2013) and routed to Water For People through the AZ Water Association, which, like WFP, is a 501(c)3 organization. All checks should be made payable to AZ Water Water For People. Receipts for riders to issue to offline donors are included as part of the rider confirmation packet. Coordination and Management: CrowdRise provides a single location from which any member of the fundraising team can interface with any other member. On their individual fundraiser site, riders can: Post pictures and videos Personalize the fundraiser description Send updates via linked social media Set individual fundraising goals Obtain a fundraiser widget to integrate into other websites Ask for donations Track online donations and process offline donations Thank donors Invite new team members Post campaign updates. Having all of this functionality in one location will streamline this year s fundraising process.
Using CrowdRise Part 1: Joining the Pedal With Purpose El Tour De Tucson Team 1. Go to www.crowdrise.com/pedalwithpurpose. The overall Pedal With Purpose El Tour de Tucson fundraiser page will be displayed: 2. Click the button at lower right that says FUNDRAISE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. This pop-up menu will appear: Click the SIGN UP FOR CROWDRISE button at the bottom of the window.
3. You will be taken to a full-screen LOGIN/SIGN UP page: You can login with the social network of your choice, use an existing login, or create a new account. If creating a new account, select the Personal Account option rather than the Non-profit Account option (highlighted above). 4. A JOIN THE TEAM box pops up: Click the button
5. Hooray! Welcome to your personal fundraiser page. At the top it will say YOUR NAME s FUNDRAISER: YOUR NAME HERE S FUNDRAISER: If you scroll down, you ll see all the members of the team and their amounts raised. You can add a profile picture for yourself by clicking Add Profile Photo on your icon, and there is a place for donor comments to display:
Part 2: Making Donations 1. Online donations: Donors click on the DONATE to this fundraiser button at the right of your fundraiser page (or the Pedal With Purpose fundraiser homepage) to make an online contribution. A pop-up menu displays, showing who they are sponsoring and with how large a donation, giving the option of displaying their name or not with the donation, providing a space to leave a comment or tribute with their donation, and even allowing them to make their donation a gift and send an ecard to the recipient: Once this form is filled out and the DONATE button is clicked, the donor is taken to a page to enter their credit card information: CrowdRise will generate a receipt for the donor.
2. Offline donations: Your fundraiser page has four tabs, which are highlighted here: YOUR NAME HERE S FUNDRAISER: To add an offline donation to your total funds raised, click on the MANAGE CAMPAIGN tab, then the DONATION TOOLKIT dropdown menu, and select OFFLINE DONATION MANAGER (highlighted below): A pop-up menu for entering offline donations will display: Remember that offline donations will be collected at the Pedal With Purpose team dinner on 11/22/2013, the night before El Tour, and that checks should be made out to AZ Water Water For People. In your rider confirmation packet are receipts you can give to offline donors. The Offline Donations Toolkit allows you to track the amount of money you ve received in cash and checks, but does not contribute any actual money to WFP so remember to bring those donations to the team dinner!
Part 3: Other CrowdRise Tools Remember the four tabs on your CrowdRise fundraiser page? 1. The VIEW FUNDRAISER tab displays the homepage, which shows pictures and videos, a verbal description and other basic information, fundraising totals, and has the DONATE button. 2. Under the EDIT YOUR CAMPAIGN tab, you can personalize the fundraiser description that displays on your fundraiser page, set your fundraising goal, add pictures and videos to your page, and mess with the advanced settings if you want. There is also a button that says MY FUNDRAISER WIDGET, which gives you the code necessary to display a widget about your campaign on your blog or other website. 3. Under the MANAGE YOUR CAMPAIGN tab, there are several tools in addition to the offline donation tool. You can post a campaign update on your homepage (you can sync these updates to Twitter if you like). You can ask for donations via email or social media. You can view your most recent donations. And via the DONATION TOOLKIT dropdown menu you can auto-generate thank you emails to your donors, the text of which you can edit. 4. Under the THE TEAM tab you will find links to all your teammates, everyone s individual fundraising totals, the overall total funds raised, and a button to invite new team members.
