LETTER FROM THE REGIONAL FINANCE CHAIR Dear Corporate Partners: Region II of the National Society of Black Engineers is excited to invite you to partner with us as we strive to fulfill the NSBE Mission. This year, our regional directives will serve our membership by enhancing & sustaining academic excellence, incorporating technical success through passive & active learning, and fostering a supportive environment with the community, while forging sound financial strategies. Doing this will require innovation, communication, execution, and the support of our corporate partners. Region II boasts 2,150 collegiate members, 1,028 NSBE Jr. (pre-college) members, and about 50 lifetime members. In addition, our alumni technical professional membership has grown to include 1,000 professional members. Our members represent nearly 70 active chapters throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. According to U.S. News and World Report s 2015 National University Rankings, 11 of the top 50 ranked universities in the nation are located within Region II. In addition, our region encompasses a wealth of universities with the best undergraduate engineering programs, along with being the home of 12 historically black colleges and universities. Region II is home to some of the top talent that NSBE has to offer. During the 2014 2015 academic year, the members of Region II reported a verified average GPA of 3.406 with 600 transcripts submitted. Of the 19 current National Executive Board members, six previously served on the Region II Executive Board. Our region has developed a reputation for tremendous leadership, membership participation, and academic prowess. These qualities make Region II unique and unparalleled with the opportunities it presents to recruiters. It is only with the support of our corporate partners that Region II continues to excel year after year. We invite you to connect, engage, and recruit with Region II. In exchange, you will gain access to the best and brightest diverse engineering talent to foster a well-rounded workforce capable of innovative thinking, leadership, and growth. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Gus Jenkins Region II Finance Chairperson National Society of Black Engineers r2finance@nsbe.org 1-267-670-9386 3
