PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT MA and PhD in Security Studies, Kansas State University One of the principal political scientists involved in creating MA and PhD programs in Security Studies at Kansas State University. The programs are interdisciplinary, centering on collaboration between KSU Departments of History and Political Science. Both programs were designed to teach faculty and students at the US Army s Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth as well as civilian students. Within two years of their initiation, both programs were at full capacity with an annual matriculation of 30 MA students and 5 PhD students. To date, roughly $8 million in federal funding has been secured to support the MA and the PhD.
