Approval of Minutes The Chair called a motion for the following items which were all approved: 2 A motion was made by Estelle Wolf, and seconded by Paul Raffer to approve the March 19, 2015 minutes. The motion was passed unanimously. 4. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS Budget: James Lepanto provided an updated HSAB Board Timeframe and actions handout for the budget process. Budget Committee to meet with Andy Pease on April 27, 2015 to review HHSA budget structure and content. Judith Yates volunteered to join the Budget Committee. o HSAB members may reach out to community based organizations and stakeholders from April 27, 2015 June 10, 2015. Board Members are to review the HHSA budget prior to next meeting and come with questions for Andy Pease s May presentation to HSAB board. Board Members to provide input prior to next meeting to finalize and approve. 6. PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER S REPORT Dr. Wooten Dr. Wooten discussed the following updates: (Handouts) Influenza Watch: o Current week 14 (ending 4/11/15 27 new influenza detections reported 3% Influenza-like-illness (ILI) among emergency department visits: Expected level 0 influenza-related deaths reported this week 8% of deaths registered with Pneumonia & Influenza: Expected level Current Season Summary: o 6,698 total cases o 138 ICU Cases o 79 Deaths 1. Communicable Disease Issues A. Infectious Disease Issues 1) Influenza Watch See handout 2. Grants A. Funded 1) Sodium: Sodium Reduction in AIS, CWS, Probations, and county facilities 2) SNAP-ED: activities continue on target with a new focus on policy, systems and environmental change 3) Prevention (Public health Actions to Prevent Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Stroke): funded to work in the City of San Diego geographic area a) Components 1.
