Class Instructors Tony Ellis, Keynote retired in November 2007 as Director of Prison Industries after thirty-seven years of public service for the State of South Carolina ranging from Agency Director of General Services to State Materials Management Officer and several other executive positions, including over twenty years in Correctional Industries. Tony has served on the NIGP Board of Directors and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Institute for many years of service. He also served on the National Correctional Industries Board and officer of the association for many years. He is the recipient of the Rodli award and the President s award for outstanding service to National Correctional Industries Association. Tony continues to stay active in correctional industries as a consultant for several states and teaches as a Master instructor for NIGP. Tony was the first public procurement official in South Carolina to be certified as a CPPO. While Director of General Services, he established the first training institute specifically designed to train all public procurement officials. In 2015, the South Carolina Public Association of Governmental Purchasing Officials honored Tony by inducting him as the third member of the Association s Hall of Fame. He holds a BS in Marketing from USC and a Master s degree in Management from Central Michigan University. He also speaks nationally and in Canada and Ireland. One of his favorite topics and courses he wrote is the Value of Humor in the Workplace. He authored three, two- day courses currently used by NIGP entitled Customer Service, Get What You Want Through Successful Negotiation Strategies and Advanced Negotiations. Tony served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict as a medic. He is married to Jo Anne Ellis and has two children, Jonathan and Jennifer and four grandchildren, Parker, Max, Madison and John Miller that keep him quite busy. Greg Brown, CPPB, CPPO, MPA is the Purchasing Agent for the City of Valdosta, GA and has been employed there since 1995. His job entails procuring the commodities and services necessary to support the departments of the City who are responsible for achieving the goals mandated by the City Council. Prior to joining the City, Greg had 10 years of private experience. Greg has been a member of NIGP since 1995 and GPAG since 1997 and served in many positions for the Chapter including the office of President. He received his original CPPB certification in 1997 and CPPO designation in 2000 from NIGP. Greg holds a BBA degree in Management (1985) from Valdosta State College and received his Master s Degree in Public Administration in 2004 from Valdosta State University Becky Daniel, CPPO is currently the Director of Purchasing for the Houston County Board of Education. She has been with Houston County since 2007 where she began as the Senior Buyer, leaving Middle Georgia College with 25 years of service. During her time at MGC she held several positions including the Inventory/Fixed Asset Clerk and later Manager, Buyer, and Purchasing Manager. Since becoming a member of NIGP and GPAG in 1994, she has served GPAG in several capacities including Treasurer, Vice President, President, as well as various committees as both chair and member. In 1999 Becky received her CPPB and in 2013 she received her CPPO. Dale Jordan graduated from Florida State University with a major in Management and emphasis on Purchasing and Materials Management. With a purchasing / supply chain career spanning over thirty-five years, he has experienced first-hand the increased expectations and demands

Class Instructors placed on the profession. He has working in industry as a Buyer, Cost/Price Analyst, Subcontract Administrator, Category Manager, Purchasing Manager and Supply Chain Director. His responsibilities have included materials planning, inventory management, acquisition, shipping/receiving and warehouse management. As a student of negotiation, strategic business analysis and supply chain strategies he has developed in depth training addressing a number of procurement topics. Dale currently serves as the Director of Procurement and Risk Management for Cherokee County, where his department recently earned the OA4 National Accreditation from the NIGP. He is married with four children; loves music, acoustic guitars, French Bulldogs and all things Doctor Who. Matt Roberts is a Georgia native with 20 years in public service in a variety of roles. He began his professional career in law enforcement and homeland security after graduating from Columbus State University. In 2008 he made the transition to the education community serving in administrative roles in the private and public school sectors. He joined the staff at the Fayette County School District in 2010 where he currently serves as the Purchasing Manager for the District responsible for procurement, risk management, and warehouse operations.
