A BON SECOURS ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENCE June 2018 Team Leaders Alicia Durrah Administrator Elizabeth Cabusora Resident Care Coordinator Donna Edwards Business Office Manager Faron Cornell Maintenance Coordinator Chris Edmonds Food Service Coordinator Joanne Grulla Activity Coordinator Administrator s Corner Happy and Blessed June Province Place of Maryview family. Can you believe that we have experienced half of 2018?? We have had amazing time this year and are looking forward to continued success and happiness through the rest of this year. Last month moth we celebrated mothers and nurses, this month we will celebrate fathers and certified nursing assistants. Happy Father s Day to all the dads, we are thankful for all of the love, lessons, and wisdom that you have invested in your children. Province Place of Maryview has some of the best caregivers in the entire world, particularly our Certified Nursing Assistants. Our Certified Nursing Assistants go above and beyond to take care of our residents. We are so proud of them and we appreciate everything that they do daily. Please help us to recognize and celebrate them June 10-16 during National CNA week. Please feel free to participate in any of the CNA week activities with us. I am excited to announce that we have hired a full time marketing coordinator, Elizabeth Cabusora. Ms. Cabusora has been a dedicated employee for over two years, and is very passionate about marketing and our success. She will be transitioning from the Resident Care Coordinator into the Marketing Coordinator position this summer. As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call, email or stop by my office. If you are planning any extended vacations this summer, please remember to inform us of temporary contact numbers in your absence. Have a great and amazing summer, and I look forward to seeing you at and activity or picnic very soon.

We have some residents who have Wander Guard bracelets on to protect them from leaving the building and becoming lost. Please do not allow residents to follow you out of the building if the door alarm is sounding. We appreciate your attention to this safety matter. We love our residents! We were playing a serious game of dominoes.

Thank you Master Gardeners for another wonderful program. The May presentation was on Hummingbirds. Thank you Miss Lorraine for making our Cinco De Mayo Taco Bar Luncheon successful.

Washing Hands Proper handwashing is the one best way to keep yourself and others healthy. It is simple and easy to do and is very effective in preventing the spread of germs. When do you need to wash your hands? Before, during, and after preparing food Before and after eating food Before and after using the toilet After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste After touching trash/ garbage The following five steps below are the right way to wash hands: 1. Wet your hands with warm or cold running water, turn of the tap, and apply soap 2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with soap, making sure to lather the backs of your hands, between fingers, and under your nails 3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. If you sing the Happy Birthday song twice in your head, that is about 20 seconds! 4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water 5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them. If soap and water isn t available, you can use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol and follow the same technique in scrubbing your hands for about 20 seconds or until the hand sanitizer dries. Handwashing is not only keeping us clean and healthy, it is keeping others healthy as well!
