Current Needs: Continued funding and support from the Trauma Commission for annual Trauma Symposium, 2018 planning has started and we will have an interactive Pre-Con for 50 attendees on Thursday prior to the symposium. This works well with the Savannah and Macon conferences/symposiums for the northern end of the state. Regional Summary: Region 2 continues to be proactive with our R.T.A.C. education and planning with great participation for our quarterly meetings that averages 30 attendees. We hope to contiue to allow new Nursing/EMT and Paramedic Students to attend free of charge our annual Trauma Symposium to help their growth in their new chosen profession, and help with their understanding of trauma. The Stop the Bleed Training in our schools is moving rapidly with the two counties who were slow to start now on board. Our Trauma Symposium (2 nd Annual) per Keith Wages is already the 2 nd largest EMS Conference in the state and our hopes are to contuing growing the symposium and other educational opportunites for those in the northern areas of the state. 16

Current Needs: I have not been able to receive any info from our EMS council about the status of the regional improvement grant. - Status of Regional Improvement Grant - Involvement from EMS council - Involvement from ALL outside hospitals - Clarification on contract Regional Summary: After missing the first three months of the school-year due to maternity leave- our region has made great progress with STB. We are generally training our region county-bycounty where it is possible. We have great participation throughout the region and it has truly created an atmosphere of collaborationa and idea-sharing. In addition to the School Reponse Program- our Region J council received a grant to provide STB kits to the private schools in the region as well. Our region s RTAC has historically been quiet and ineffective- having a full-time coordinator has rejuvinized the committee however participation from some EMS agencies and outside hospitals could be better. Our position within the region EMS council is close to non-existant and needs to be clarified especially in regards to support from EMS agencies. Without the EMS council supporting the committee there is no motivation for EMS agencies to participate in the council. I have been unable to find information regarding the status of last year s regional improvement grant. Our PI/QA committee has made great progress with regional trip reports the template is being piloted by Bryan County Emergency Services and will soon be utilized by the Level I center s largest EMS agency. Our goal is that this form will be used by all agencies for transport to any hospital in the region. We are partnering with our representatives from the Department of Homeland Security to add an item on their school safety assessment to observe where the Stop the Bleed kits are placed in schools within our region during their annual check. We will be conducting our first BIS asssement in over five years on 1/22/18. We will not be having a stand-alone RTAC conference this year, and will partner with The M. Gage Ochsner Institute for Injury Research and Prevention for a confernce on May 18 th, 2018. 30
