Umbria Innovazione is a non-profit organization, created by the local body of the Region of Umbria. Umbria Innovazione s mission is to promote and generate innovation and development and to improve regional system competitiveness.

Specific priority objectives to strengthen the Umbria Region: a) to join and to promote co-operation and interaction between innovation offer sector and the related local demand/market b) to promote and develop synergy and operative integration among local innovation offer organizations improving their operating capability

Technology Transfer Actions - Europe Umbria Innovazione serves Umbria as member of the Enterprise Europe Network

Umbria Innovazione has wide experience coordinating research and development programs, at the regional and European level

DEN4DEK (Digital ecosystem network of regions for dissemination and Knowledge deployment): shares and spreads good practices in planning, implementing and exploiting digital business ecosystems. Italian Enterprises Speaking IES: the objective of the project is to inform regional SMEs about specific topics in existing and proposed EC innovation policy and collect their feedback to relay to the Commission.

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) The EC s trans-national network, to drive innovation and competitiveness by connecting knowledge, technologies and people. Through exchange of profiles and participation in missions and thematic events, SMEs find partners for technology transfer and joint projects. Umbria Innovazione has been a partner in this project for about 15 years. NANOFUN-POLY: network of excellence dedicated to nanostructured polymeric materials. 29 European partners (Universities, research centres). Central role of Umbria Innovazione: ensure the integration and constitution of the ECNP (European Center for Nanostructured Polymers), in partnership with the University of Perugia Terni branch

Project EFFORT, a European IST project whose objective was to gain understanding of the behaviour, governance, sustainability and constituency drivers of dynamic crossborder and cross-regional clusters of SMEs. (coordinator). The core objectives of the project included Analyse of barriers and enablers, including legal, ICT and policy, to extended and dynamic clustering. Examine how ad-hoc clustering can allow SMEs to respond quickly to changing market needs Identify success factors for dynamic clustering of SMEs

Interreg project RDAnet Ceda2 (Regional Development Agencies Network in the Central European and Danubian Areas) project partner and leader of two Thematic Working Groups (Clustering of SMEs andtechnology and Regional Development) Project ennovation-net, which examined how to enable future coordination among the national e business and innovation programmes of several countries.

Umbria Innovazione spreads innovation culture in countries outside the borders of Europe: teaching courses in innovation and technology transfer teaching courses in innovation and technology transfer in Uzbekistan, Argentina, China, India and Libya; providing on-site support for the establishment of science parks in Tunisia; transfer of know-how in Argentina, including for the first voluntary certification of origin (equivalent to Protected Designation of Origin) in Argentina.

Umbria Innovazione managed PROGRAMMA SISTEMA for the Region. SISTEMA, an integral part of Umbria s Innovative Actions, focused on stimulating and supporting innovation activities and knowledge transfer among SMEs and especially spin-offs, clustered to conduct research projects. Participants: 45 companies and 20 spin-offs participated, grouped in to 14 research projects.
