Hampton Roads Rowing Club Membership Levels and Facility Fees (Revised November 8, 2016) All memberships start January 1 and continue through December 31 of the same year. Membership privileges are granted once paperwork and dues have been received by the club. Renewal dues and fees for existing members are payable in January of each year, unless noted otherwise below. Individual Membership Any person who is at least twenty-one (21) years of age shall be eligible for Individual Membership. Unrestricted access to the club facility Hold office in the club Sponsor up to one guest per day (see Guests ) Store rowing equipment (see Boat and Rowing Equipment Storage ) $350 (full year, active military receive an additional 20% discount) $175 (post-season, Sept 1 - December 31) (Annual dues may be paid in three equal installments, due February 1 st, March 1 st, and April 1 st.) Collegiate Membership Any person who is at least eighteen (18) year of age and less than twenty-five (25) years of age shall be eligible for the Collegiate Membership.
Unrestricted access to the club facility $125 (full year) $75 (summer, June 1 - August 31) $75 (post-season, Sept 1 - December 1) Family Membership Any person who is at least twenty-one (21) years of age and has a spouse, domestic partner, or dependent children between the age of eighteen (18) year and twenty-one (21) years shall be eligible for Family Membership. Families with children in high school must have a majority vote by the Board for the child to be allowed to join under this membership. for family membership will be set at 150% of individual membership dues. Adults who meet the Individual Membership criteria have the same privileges as specified in the Individual Membership section. Otherwise, adults who meet the Collegiate Membership criteria have the same privileges as specified in the Collegiate Membership section. Otherwise, high school students must row with a parent, in open rows, or if invited by a set crew to join an 8x/8+/4x/4+. The use of singles and doubles for high school students is at the discretion of the coach(es). $525 (full year) $260 (post-season, Sept 1 - December 31) (Annual dues may be paid in three equal installments, due February 1 st, March 1 st, and April 1 st.)
Junior Membership Any person who is under eighteen (18) years of age and already has rowing experience may be eligible for the Junior Membership. This membership requires a majority approval of the Board. All paperwork must be signed by the legal guardian. Access to the club facility only when supervised by responsible Individual Member or Coach only when supervised by responsible Individual Member or Coach $125 (full year) $75 (summer, June 1 - August 31) $75 (post-season, Sept 1 - December 1) Non-resident (Visiting / Out-of-Town) Membership Any person who is at least eighteen (18) year of age and is not a full time residents within a fifty (50) mile radius of the club boat house shall be eligible for Non-resident Membership. This membership affords non-residents the opportunity to participate in competitive training programs or races offered by the club. $75 (full year) Non-equipment Membership ($100) Non-equipment membership is designed for private boat owners only. These members enjoy individual membership but are not eligible to use club rowing equipment such as shells and oars or to receive coaching from HRRC employed coach(es).
Unrestricted access to the club facility (excluding use of club equipment) $100 (full year) Coxswains Coxswain memberships do not convey access or use of club equipment This membership level exists solely to allow coxswains the opportunity to cox club crews. All coxswains must be pre-approved by the coach(es). Affiliation with the club None Honorary Membership (no cost) Honorary membership shall be reserved for the purpose of recognizing persons who shall have been of lasting or outstanding service to the club or to the sport of rowing. Honorary memberships may only be awarded by the Board of Directors. It shall not be awarded as compensation for specific services rendered. This category of membership affords individuals the opportunity to affiliate with the club, without having to pay dues. Affiliation with the club None
Guests Guests may row club equipment as long as they are sponsored by a member. The member will be responsible for the guest's signing of a waiver, the guest's conduct and for any damages, if incurred. Upon attending five separate rowing sessions in a year, guests will be required to join the club as individual or student members prior to continued use of any club rowing equipment. It is the responsibility of the sponsoring member to ensure the five session rule is enforced. : NO COST Boat and Rowing Equipment Storage Requirements Must have an Individual Membership, Family Membership, or Non-equipment Membership. Fees $200 Single $500 Double / Pair Donations HRRC is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Donations are always welcome and deductible to the extent allowed by law.
