Pillow Talk CFHS Marching Tiger Band uniform pillow sales continue on Jan. 17 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. before the All-City Band Concert. These fun and unique pillows come in two different styles, which are as follows: Pillow A: $75. This unique pillow was created using the CF logo from the converter and the gold stripe from the uniform pants. Pillow B: $50. This fun pillow was created from the marching and concert band jacket and the gold stripe from the uniform pants. Shakos with their plumes will also be on sale for $5. All pillows were dry cleaned before they were assembled, but will have some character from their years in use. The size may vary slightly, but they are about 14 inches by 14 inches. Cash or checks made payable to the IMP will be accepted. All proceeds will go toward the uniform fund to build inventory to fit future members. --Terri Criss and Kathy Emnett A word from our president Hello band family! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a great New Year! December brought us wonderful holiday concerts and an amazing Gold Tones concert at the Cuyahoga Falls Library. Awesome job to all of our Cuyahoga Falls bands! As we move into the new year, there are many great activities, concerts, and fundraisers. We will resume our monthly IMP meetings on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. The All- City Band Concert will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 17. This is also the night that we will draw the winner of our ipad raffle. Tickets will be coming home as soon as school is open. The cold weather and ice have put this fundraiser, that benefits the general fund for all instrumental music students, very behind! The students will only have a little over a week to sell, sell, sell. We need everyone s help to make this fundraiser a huge success! January also will be our high school solo and ensemble competition. It is a great opportunity to hear some of our amazing musicians in a smaller and intimate setting. Since this is an OMEA adjudicated event, no video, audio, or photos can be taken during performances and once doors close, they cannot allow spectators in or out. These are the OMEA guidelines. March 2 will be our large group OMEA event hosted at our own high school. Please watch for information about volunteering for that day. We will need lots of help to make it a success! Also, we will host a new fundraiser, An Evening of Jazz, on March 9. Watch for information on this event. It will be a great night! Finally, the All-City Percussion concert will be on March 15. April will bring our end-of-year concerts and awards, along with voting for new IMP board members for next year and sign-ups for chair positions. We have many parents that have held key positions and do an amazing job, but their children are graduating, and they will be moving on. Please, consider becoming more active and possibly chairing an event or fundraiser. It takes many hands to keep this program running well, and we can find a spot for anyone Continued on page 4 3
