Nurse Practitioner Independent Practice Coming Up For a Vote! As reported last week, HB 1013, the measure to allow nurse practitioners to practice independently, was scheduled to be voted on this week. The vote was delayed, but we expect it to be up for consideration early next week on the house floor. HB 1013 would remove any requirement that nurse practitioners be supervised by a physician. We believe this is not in the best interest of patient safety and question why we should create a two-tier healthcare system for urban vs. rural citizens. VOTE NO Please visit the link below for an email or phone talking points to contact your state representative. https://www.votervoice.net/okmed/campaigns/49836/respond Calling All White Coats Medicine Day Legislative Reception Tuesday, Feb. 21, 5-7 p.m. OSMA headquarters, 313 N.E. 50th, OKC (Please note: N.W. 50th St. exit from I-235 is currently closed.
