Annual EEO Public File Report Form Radio Stations KLQV (FM) and KLNV (FM), San Diego, CA Univision Radio San Diego The purpose of this EEO Public File Report ( Report ) is to comply with Section 73.2080(c) (6) of the FCC s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): KLQV(FM) and KLNV(FM), San Diego, California and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and posted on their websites, if they have websites. The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning August 1, 2015 to and including July 31, 2016 (the Applicable Period ). The FCC s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information: 1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period; 2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number; 3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period; 4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and 5. For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed filled not when the offer was extended but when the hiree accepted the job offer. NAB Career Fair, April 20, 2016- Las Vegas, NV Univision Radio San Diego, Inc. s Senior Accountant/EEO Officer were present at the Las Vegas NAB Career Fair where they spoke and met with students and a diverse group of individuals from different parts of the nation interested in careers in broadcasting. KLNV-FM and KLQV-FM job postings and job descriptions were distributed at this event. 2. Southwestern College Career Fair- May 26, 2016- San Diego, CA Univision Radio San Diego, Inc. s Promotions Director and Senior Accountant/EEO Officer were present at the on the Southwestern College campus where they spoke and made students aware of the careers in broadcasting. KLNV-FM and KLQV-FM job postings and job descriptions were distributed on site. 3. Mexican American Women s National Association (MANA), October 13, 2012- San Diego, CA KLNV/KLQV FM participated at the MANA Mujeres Con Exito Conference. Workshops in English and Spanish on the topics of Leadership, Finance, Health, Career and Business were offered at this conference. 4. Mexican American Women s National Association (MANA) non-profit National Women s Organization, June 2016 KLNV/KLQV FM sponsors the Hermanitas Program for this well known non-profit National Women s Organization which promotes higher education, leadership development, and peer support to young, local Latinas, ages 12-18 through a one-on-one mentorship program. KLNV/KLQV-FM provided on air support to the Hermanitas Program throughout 2015 and 2016. KLNV/KLQV FM Community Affairs Director, Mary Lopez-Gallo additionally served as a board member for the organization. 5. Celebrando Event, August 29, 2015 An educational expo with relevant topics for today s Latina, through motivational keynotes speakers and workshops. This was interactive expo hall containing resources from various organizations focused on Latina women empowerment through education and career. KLNV/KLQV FM sponsored this event and the event was hosted by KLQV-FM On-Air Personality, Argelia Atilano. 6. University of San Diego Mariachi Showcase, March 12, 2016 KLNV/KLQV FM sponsored, participated in and hosted this San Diego County Office of Education event which promoted Musical education to students ranging from 7-18 years of age. 6
7. Salute to Education Scholarship, April, 2016 KLNV/KLQV FM Account Executive, Mark Silverstein participated in the selection process for the Salute to Education scholarship program. 8. High Tech High School Tour, April 7 2016 Univision Radio San Diego, Inc. hosted 10 students from Charter school High Tech High School. The students were toured around the offices and presented to each department where they were able to ask questions related to the different careers in broadcasting. 9. YALLA Student Tour, January 2016 Univision Radio San Diego, Inc. hosted 6 students from YALLA refugee after school students. The students were toured around the offices and presented to each department where they were able to ask questions related to the different careers in broadcasting. 10. STEM Expo Festival, March 13, 2016 San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering where Univision Radio was on site with an interactive radio booth where attendees were able to experience first hand what it was like to be an on-air personality. 11. South Bay Community Services y First 5 San Diego Volunteer Day, April 28, 2016 The Univision Radio San Diego staff volunteered to spend the day with children who have been effected by domestic violence to help the teachers, participate in arts and crafts and speak about their jobs in radio and the possibility for the children s own future in media. Participation in Job Banks: Univision Radio, San Diego is a member of Alliance for Women in Media (previously American Women in Radio and Television), the Southern California Broadcasters, California Broadcasters Association, and the National Association of Broadcasters. Establishment of In-House EEO Training The employment unit provides training and information to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination. On July 12, 2016, Laura Wright, Human Resources Manager conducted EEO Training for all our department heads that have hiring power. Among the unit s other efforts, on July 28, 2016, a memo was sent to staff reiterating our Equal Employment Opportunity policy 7
