Muniz Bob and Renee Wood of Eads met all their 32 chil - dren and grand chil dren from Wyoming, Montana, Colo - rado, and Pennsylvania in Den ver for the week end in a re sort mo tel to cel e brate and re joice that Renee is 80 years old. She was so thrilled when she called me Sunday eve ning. She has crocheted probably hun dreds of af ghans through the years for her rel a tives and oth ers so her chil dren have been col lect - ing pho tos of the af ghans for them and other peo ple to make a book for her. This wonderful couple moved to Eads 52 years ago for Bob to be a teacher and coach and in time to be our Su per in ten dent. Renee worked for a num - ber of years in the Weisbrod Hospital and Bob con tin ues to be a valuable volunteer on sev - eral boards and is an Am - bulance driver. The Thurs day Cof fee Hour at Weisbrod was well at tended. It was good to see Bill Trosper s mother s quilt dis played in the din - ing room. It has flower seed packet mo tifs in ter - twined with green vines of yellow flowers. Mem bers of the Eads Cham ber of Com merce heard about the ex traor di - nary po ten tial for some new busi nesses that may come to Haswell and Eads. Jan Rich ards of the KCEDF re ported that she has sold two more lots at Ki owa Es tates south of town. She also showed a pho tos of eleven tents where a group of youth work ers are camp ing at Jack son s Pond for about ten days while they work on the grounds out at the Na tional Sand Creek Park site. She and Pres i dent Den nis Pearson said that the Wild Life Di vi sion will be stock ing the Pond with fish be fore the Kids Fish - ing Day on Sunday, May 15. These lead ers also dis cussed the real need for a child care cen ter in Eads and the pos si bil ity of a site. Jan said that peo ple are wel come to at tend the Steering Committee meet - ing at noon on March 18 th at the Cob ble stone Inn. Tristen Sheridan will head up the com mit tee. Alyssa Hadley and Trey Eder were feted with an elab o rate and most lovely wed ding shower at the Bap tist Church fel low - ship hall. The host esses were many of her close class mates from 10 years ago. It was such a nice time for the young la dies and rel a tives who at - tended the party. Pas tor Rich ard and Pat Zabriski moved to Ar i zona last month. They are happy to be near their son, Richie. The Pas tor is com - bat ing a can cer prob lem now but do ing well.
