I also had the good fortune of connecting with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, who had a table at the event. NEW THIS YEAR: PITCH COACHING & COMPETITION A CHANCE TO WIN $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 AND $2,500 This year s summit will feature a pitch competition. Fifty to 60 attendees, selected from a pool of applicants, will attend a morning pitch coaching session conducted by six pitch coaches from Kent State University. The six coaches will choose 10 pitch finalists, who in the afternoon will pitch to all summit attendees and a panel of judges. The attendees and panel of judges will determine the top four finalists, who will win cash prizes as follows: first place ($10,000), second place ($5,000), third and fourth places ($2,500 each). The pitch coaches are: PITCH COACHES MARY R. HEIDLER, MBA, entrepreneurship instructor and operations manager, Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, Kent State University. KIPP KRUKOWSKI, adjunct faculty member, Kent State University, Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship. DENISE M. EASTERLING, CPA, entrepreneur and faculty member, Kent State University. MIKE BEDER, Kent State University graduate and serial entrepreneur. BRIAN BOWLES, CEO, Blackwolf Tactical and Kent State University Student Startup Mentor. CRAIG ZAMARY, serial entrepreneur and faculty member, Kent State University. Qualifications FES attendees with new business ideas or new ventures in existing businesses that are owned by female entrepreneurs are invited to apply to the FES Pitch Competition. There is no fee to apply, but the top 60 attendees chosen will pay an attendance fee of $225 for the entire day s events, including the opportunity to win the first-place prize of $10,000. If a concept for which a business has already been established is being pitched, that business should be less than two years old, and its annual revenues should not exceed $250,000. Applicants must submit a two-minute video pitch (submit at bottom of form below). The video should complement the executive summary and impress the pitch coaches with the value proposition of the idea or organization. All videos will be judged on content rather than video quality. Deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at midnight. Please note the deadline is final. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Finalists Finalists will be required to attend the morning coaching session and the afternoon pitch competition on Oct. 21, 2015, at Cleveland Public Auditorium and Conference Center. Each business owner will have one minute to give her pitch, followed by in-depth questioning from a panel of judges, including Jennifer Fleiss and Jennifer Hyman, Rent the Runway founders. Following the pitches, the judges, along with the audience, will identify the top four pitches, and each winner will be provided with a check to advance their business. Fill Out an Application Today!
