FORTNIGHT NEWS (SEPTEMBER 16-30) District Level Weight Lifting tournament for women was held at Tiruchengode on 17.09.17. In this tournament our students got 14 gold, 6 silver and they also got overall championship. Ozone Awareness Rally was organised by Eco Club from Namagiripet Boys Higher Secondary School to Bus Stand on 18.09.2017. The rally was flagged off by Mr.R.Duraisamy, Sub Inspector of Police, Namagiripet. Periyar University Intercollegiate Hockey Tournament for women was held at Periyar University, Salem on 18.09.2017. In this tournament our team secured third position. Periyar University Inter Collegiate Taek-Won Do tournament for men and women was held at PRUCAS, Mettur on 14.09.2017. In this tournament our college students got 2 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medal.
Infosys, Mysore Campus Visit Placement cell made an ample arrangement to visit the Infosys Training Center, Mysore on 20.09.2017.Dr.R.Selvakumaran, Principal, Dr.A.Stella Baby, Dean, Administration and heads of various departments visited the Infosys Training Center.
Cambridge Assessment English Awards - 2017 was awarded to Muthayammal College of Arts and Science on 21.09.2017. The award was given for Best Academic support for students to South Asia 25 best preparation center awards for Higher Education. The students of the department of Biotechnology participated in the inter Collegiate Meet which was held at Jairam Arts and Science college, Salem on 22.09.2017. The students participated in Quiz Competition and Bioad Competition and got 2 nd prize in both the competitions. The students of the department of Computer Science participated in the State Level Inter Collegiate Meet which was held at Vysya College, Salem on 22.09.2017. They participated in Ebullience Competition and got 2 nd prize. The department of Commerce organised the department festival Comfest 2017 on 23.09.2017. The students participated in quiz competition and Adzap. Power point presentation on the essentials of GST was presented to the students.
The NSS volunteers rendered their service and support to the Anjanayar Temple festival at Mettala on 23.09.2017. Nearly 25 volunteers involved themselves and served the public. ICT team organised a workshop on Google Apps for the Newly appointed staff members on 23.09.2017. Nearly 32 staff members were benefited by this workshop. The NSS volunteers rendered their support to the Medical Camp which was held at Poovayammal Thirumana Mahal on 23.09.2017 and 24.09.2017. Mr.K.P.Ramaswamy, Chairman of Muthayammal Institutions inaugurated the Medical camp. State Level Boxing tournament for women was held Kannyakumari on 23.09.2017. G.Monisha of I B.Sc Biochemistry got gold medal in this tournament.
The Physical Education department organised the Periyar University Intercollegiate Hand ball tournament for men in the college premises on 25.09.2016 and 26.09.2016. Our college team got the winner up position in this tournament. The department of Hotel Management and catering organised a workshop on Bakery on 25.09.2017. The chief guest was Mr.L.Lakshmanan, Grand Estancia Hotel, Salem. The students of the department of Chemistry participated in the miming show which was held at Gnanamani Educational Institutions, Namakkal on 26.09.2017. They got 1 st prize in miming show competition. The students of the department of Computer Science participated in the National Level Symposium which was held at Gnanamani Educational Institutions, Namakkal on 26.09.2017. The students participated and won cash prizes in various events such as Multimedia, Debugging, Adzip and Web Design.
South India level Karunya Evangeline Memorial Football tournament for men was held at Karunya University, Coimbatore from 26.09.2017 to 29.09.2017. In this tournament our team secured 4 th position. The department of Biological Sciences organised the department festival Bioritz 2017 on 26.09.2017. The students participated in various competitions such as miming, drama, debate, singing and essay writing. They also showcased their talent by creating a model exhibition and short film. Entrepreneurship Development Cell organised an Awareness Programme on 27.09.2017. This programme was organised by Tamilnadu EDII and Namakkal MSME. The people those who are interested to become an Entrepreneur of Rasipuram taluk participated in this programme. Nearly 100 people in and around Rasipuram were benefited by this awareness programme. Periyar University Inter Collegiate Kho Kho tournament for women was held at Sri Vidhya Mandir Arts and Science College, Salem from 27.09.2017 to 29.09.2017. In this tournament our college team secured runner position.
The department of Commerce went for an industrial visit from 14.09.2017 to 16.09.2017 to kerala and ooty. They visited the tea factory in Ooty. Nearly 110 students were assisted by 5 staff members of the department. The department of Physics went for an industrial visit from 14.09.2017 to 16.09.2017 to Keral and Cochin. They visited the Anna Aluminium Factory. Nearly 88 students were assisted by 4 staff members of the department. The department of English went for an Industrial visit to Kannyakumari, Cochin and Kerala from 21.09.2017 to 23.09.2017. Nearly 140 students were assisted by 7 staff members of the department.
The department of BBA went for an industrial visit to Ooty and Kerala from 27.09.2017 to 29.09.2017. They visited the tea factory in Ooty. Nearly 45 students were assisted by 2 staff members of the department.
