It's not that there are any secrets or things that must be kept from the uninitiated, but that no one who has experienced the weekend wants to ruin the surprise for those who have yet to go through it. Simply put, the Happening has potential to change lives. Setting a weekend apart to be with God and several dozen others who are seeking His face in an intimate way, gives one a chance to assess what is really important in their lives. The Happening is sponsored by United Methodist in the Mississippi Conference and is for students in grades 10th - 12th. The cost is $65 and students register independently on the Happening website www.mshappening.net. After the form is downloaded and completed, students then mail it to the address provided on the form. The next Happening is November 21st - 23rd and will be hosted by Central. Registration closes two weeks before each Happening. (approximately November 7th ) Dawn Gore and Melissa Goldman will be acting as the Happening Moms.

CHILDREN S MINISTRY LITURGICAL DANCE Liturgical Dance Practice with Mrs. Caroline begins THIS SUNDAY at 4:15 p.m. in the gym. This is open to girls Kindergarten and up. Girls will perform both in worship and for the Christmas Program during the Advent/Christmas Season. For more information you may contact Mrs. Caroline 601.462.6799, or Sabrina Williams 601.479.2178, sabrina@cumcmdn.org It is that time of year again where our students wrap and package shoe boxes to be sent to children around the world who otherwise would not receive gifts during the holiday season. While we all acknowledge that the season is NOT about gifts, this mission event allows both OUR children to experience the opportunity to GIVE and hopefully the recipients of the shoe boxes understand that there are people far away who care for them! Beginning this Sunday there will be a drop off in the Crossing for both Shoe boxes and small toys, dolls, and stuffed animals, wrapped hard candy, socks, t-shirts, caps, crayons...anything that is NOT liquid or war related (guns, tanks, army men, etc...) This week as you are shopping, please pick up a few items to help us in our mission! FOOD FOR THE JOURNEY [suggested Bible readings for November 3 - November 9, 2014] Morning Noon Evening Mon.
