WORLD CONFERENCE ON KINANTHROPOMETRY - CHILE 2018 JUNE 29, 30, JULY 1, INTRODUCTION The Education Faculty, along with Andres Bello University s Physical Education department in Santiago, Chile, has the pleasure of hosting the World Conference on Kinanthropometry Chile Through this document, we call for papers and publications for those who wish to present in this event. The World Conference on Kinanthropometry is a renowned scientific activity of an international nature to which around 400 people from more than 50 countries will attend. The main objective is to show the application of Kinanthropometry as an academic discipline that entails the use of anthropometric body measurements in relation to other scientific parameters and/or thematic areas such as human movement, physiology, or health-applied sciences. Besides, we wish to highlight the International Society for the Advance of Kinanthropometry (ISAK), an organization of individuals whose scientific and professional endeavor is related to the ideal practice of kinanthropometry, maintaining an international web of coworkers in all associated disciplines. Chile will be the venue for this mega event in 2018, and our university will be the home that will host authorities, scientists, professionals, and students from all around the world presenting their research in the following categories: WAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SEMINAR: 1) Conference: National and/or international specialists contribute to strengthening the focus on kinanthropometry and its relation to health, sports, and nutrition, among other areas. This category is by invitation only. 2) Talks: This is a live presentation by attendees with the purpose of transmitting scientific information from research work on kinanthropometry with clarity and efficiency, always in relation to health, sports, and nutrition, among other areas. These presentations must be
audience-friendly and easily understood. The maximum time allotted to these talks is 10 minutes. 5 extra minutes will be given for questions and answers. 3) Research Posters: A printed strategy of visual communication about the main findings in research works in this specific area of study presented before the scientific community. In this document, we will show the main objectives of the research, the methodology applied, and the main results. In any case, it is necessary to send a summary to be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the Congress, who will determine its relevance to obtain the verdict: ACCEPTED or DECLINED. The acceptance of works is determined by meeting the requirements for your presentation and its relevance and impact. APPLICATION DATE Submissions will be accepted until March 31, No exceptions. ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION DATE The acceptance or rejection of submissions will be informed by email on April 31, The Congress Committee has the faculty of informing with anticipation if they find it necessary. Once the submissions are accepted, the chronogram and schedule of the presentations will be informed. The Congress organization assumes that the researchers that apply to this program have complete schedule availability to present. No modifications of dates or schedules on the chronogram will be accepted. If the researcher cannot participate due to schedule conflicts, the organization commission will eliminate the presentation from the program. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS All submissions must be in a format compatible to Microsoft Word, letter size, simple spacing, Arial, 11 point, justified on both sides, and presenting the following information: Title (25 words maximum) Author or authors Author s institution E-mail address of the corresponding author(s) Summary/Abstract (250 words maximum). This summary must be presented Spanish and English. Note: No figures, tables or bibliographical references may be included. The summary must be clear and substantial enough to present the main methods, results and conclusions in a maximum of 250 words. This does not imply that on the day of the presentation there can be no figures, tables or bibliographical references.
The summary must present and clearly state (in bold) the following indents: Objective: Methods: Results: Conclusion: Key words: (3 to 5 words) Submissions must be sent to the following emails address: investigation@isakchilecl claudia.arancibia@unab.cl SPECIFIC CONDITIONS 1. Research Poster: The summaries accepted in this item must be presented before the Congress organization on the specified day, time and place for their placement. The location where this poster must be posted will be indicated. All posters must by 90 cm wide, 110 cm tall in a vertical manner. During the Congress, authors must present their poster before a group of evaluating judges. They will have 5 minutes to evaluate. After this, there will be 2 minutes for debate. The author in charge of presenting the poster must be standing next to it 15 minutes before the scheduled presentation. The organization will not be held accountable for posters that are not taken at the end of the Congress. All presentations and debates must be in Spanish or English. 2. Talks: The summaries accepted in this item must be presented before the Congress organization on the specified day, time and place. All presentations must be done in Microsoft PowerPoint and handed in for the presentation by following the Organization Committee s instructions. Presenters must by in the room 15 minutes before the talks begin that day and must identify themselves to a member of the Organization Committee. The oral presentation must last a maximum of 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes for debate.
Every person can send a maximum of two summaries as the main author, be it as a research poster and/or a talk. It is possible to appear as coauthor in other summaries. Talks must be presented by their main author. It is mandatory that the main author is registered in the Congress. UNAB Note: in case that the research has been done by more than one author, it is necessary to add an information table for each author for which you are asking for a certificate. RECOGNITIONS: The presentations will be evaluated by a scientific committee giving recognition to the best work in two categories: 1. Research posters 2. Talks To facilitate the presence of ISAK members and stimulate their participation in the presentation of scientific research papers, the Society s Executive Committee agreed to grant ten $2,000(NZD) scholarships to ISAK members that apply for them and submit scientific papers. Four prizes of $1,000 (NZD) will also be awarded for the best scientific papers presented at the Conference, one for each theme at the Conference. Note: The works that are accepted but not presented by the respective author(s) during the Seminar will not be evaluated.
