If you are interested in being on stage crew for the Fall show Willy Wonka, please email Mrs. Giffin for a form or access the form at: falldrama.cvsdtheatre.com and return to Mrs. Giffin as soon as possible. INTERACT CLUB meeting on Friday, September 21 st in the DMC during homeroom. All students interested in finding out about volunteer opportunities are welcome to attend. Next week our school will be participating in Sandy Hook Promise s Start With Hello Week. Each day there will be activities designed to enable students to make a difference with their peers in a simple, fun, and impactful way by encouraging them to take small but powerful actions to promote connectedness and inclusion, and to identify and help others who are showing signs of social isolation. Service Hours Opportunity 9/22! Be creative and help celebrate the Collier Community! Volunteers are needed to help with children's crafts during Collierfest on September 22 nd at the Collier Community Center. Volunteers are asked to be at the center between 1:30 and 1:45 pm. The event runs from 2-9 pm. If interested, please contact Rochelle Barry at 724-693-0780 ASAP. GSA Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 25 th in Room H2808, 2:45 pm until 4pm. Plan to attend to help with the carnival details. All are welcome! Just as a reminder that the High School Open House date has changed to September 26 th CVHS Blood Drive on Thursday, Sept 27 th. You can save THREE lives by donating blood. Sign up today in your Social Studies Class to donate blood with a representative from Central Blood Bank of Pittsburgh. All donors will receive a Penguins knitted hat (while supplies last). Pittsburgh Blood Bank Scholarship. Seniors who participate in the CV blood drives are eligible for a scholarship from the Central Blood Bank and the Family & Consumer Science Department. Last year we were awarded $2250, in scholarship money. Be sure to donate and apply by April.

Plan to attend the organizational meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 9th period, in Room H2808. Representatives from PHEAA will also be available to answer questions about financial aid. Attention all 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Students: The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be offered on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 7:45am at the high school. If you are interested in taking the ASVAB or simply learning more about the exam, please sign up in the high school office no later than Friday, October 5, 2018. Eleventh grade students are permitted to take the ASVAB in lieu of the PSAT. Keep in mind the ASVAB is not only a military used exam, it is a great career interest inventory as well. In no way are students committed to or recruited by the military from taking the ASVAB. See Mrs. Boyd with any questions.
