Passaic County Open Space, Farmland, & Historic Preservation Trust Fund 2018 HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT APPLICATION WORKSHOP
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS Municipal governments within Passaic County Non-profit organizations (a corporation or trust exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Internal Revenue Code of 1986) whose purpose includes historic preservation of historic properties, structures, facilities, sites, areas or objects, or the acquisition of such properties, structures, facilities, sites, areas or objects for historic preservation purposes.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS For Non-profits If you do not own the historic site or property, the non-profit must obtain either: Lease showing a period of at least 25 years; or Resolution of support from the governing body of the local government unit approving the grant application and project For Religious & Educational Institutions Must qualify for tax-exempt status under IRC section 501(c)(3). Must operate for a public rather than a private interest.
ELIGIBLE PROPERTIES Located in Passaic County Listing on a local, the New Jersey or National Register of Historic Places, individually or as part of a historic district listed on the any register. If not listed on either Register, property must be certified as eligible for listing by the State Historic Preservation Office, either as an individually listed site or as part of a historic district.

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES All proposed activities must be in conformance with : The Secretary of the Interior s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties
INELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES Complete reconstruction New additions Interpretative activities such as displays, signs, or exhibitions Fundraising Administrative or operation costs Relocation Gaetano Federici Exhibit (Lambert Castle, Paterson) 2017

APPLICATION & SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Please submit one (1) paper copy and one (1) electronic copy for the following materials: Application Forms Proposals from Professionals, Consultants, Contractors, etc. The following materials can be submitted as an electronic copy: All photos as JPEG images Prior Preservation Plans, reports, and any other large documentation in PDF format All other supporting documentation (preferably in PDF format)
