There will be games, prizes, snacks, balloons, inflatables, free books, and Ice Cream!. Everyone is welcome! This event is NOT sponsored by Franklin School. For More information, call 0.5.227. April Board Student LANEY ROSS We have Yearbooks in the office for purchase. Cost is $17.00 exact change or check payable to Franklin Sc hool May 2018 A Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, May, 2018 from 9 a.m. to noon at Memorial Park in Wadsworth. The cost to register is just $2.00 per child pre-sale, and each will receive a raffle ticket. Prizes will be awarded during drawings held throughout the event. There will also be prizes for most and largest fish. Included in the purchase of the ticket is a free hotdog and drink. This event is open to the public. No fishing license is required at Memorial Pond. Student tickets are on sale at Franklin School. Adults are NOT required to have a ticket! Food may be purchased separately for a minimum cost. Tickets the day of the event will be $2.50

Awards Day - Grades 1-4 The final Awards Day for this school year will be held on Tuesday, May 29 for grades 1 to 4 at 1:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Many plaques will be awarded that day. Parents and friends are invited to attend. Awards Day - Kindergarten The Kindergarten Awards Day and End of the Year Program will be held on Thursday, May at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. 2018- Transportation Forms Transportation: 2018-20 School Year letters were mailed to all Wadsworth City School students on April 11, 2018. If you did not receive the transportation E-Link letter and the Transportation Other than Residence form, please contact the Transportation Office at 0-5-128. If you have not completed your forms and returned to your student's school building, please do so by May 11, 2018. We appreciate your cooperation in this process. They were chosen from over 500 entries and were recognized for their skill and talent at the Earth Day Festival in Seville 1st Grade Winners: Jax Carpenter Hailey Kiko 2nd Grade Winner: Brandon Dishauzi rd Grade Winner: Allison Loose Maker Faire There will be a Maker Faire at the University of Akron Wayne College in Orrville, Ohio on May, 2018. It runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This faire is open to the public and is FREE! Check out a laser maze logic game, robots and D printers. Wayne college is a 20 minute drive and is located south on route 57 and then west on Back Massillon Road to 01 Smucker Road. Medina County History Day Dandelion Drive Various historical societies and museums will be open on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from :00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All have free admission that day. This year s hosting locations include Liverpool, Brunswick, Hinckley, Granger and Weymouth. Detailed information and maps can be found at www.visitmedinacounty.com State of the Schools Address Literacy on the Lawn (LOL) 2018 This summer s Literacy on the Lawn will look different than last summer. There will be two LOL events at Franklin School... June 25 from 11-noon July 2 from 11-noon There are three other LOL events that are community wide. The first one is scheduled for Tuesday, June, 2018 from 6-7 p.m. in front of the Administration building on Broad Street (Old Overlook School). The second one is at Memorial Park on July 11 from 6-7 p.m. at the large pavillion. Finally the third one is under the lights at Art Wright Stadium on Monday, August 6 from 7:0-9 p.m. Anyone can participate in this program! Superintendent, Dr. Hill will present his State of the Schools Address on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:0 a.m. at The Galaxy Restaurant. This is open to the public. There is a cost of $.00 per person to cover lunch. A NOTE FROM THE NURSE ALL student medication, including Epi-pens, inhalers and cough drops MUST be picked up by a parent by the last day of school, May 0. Medications that are not picked up by May 0, 2018 will be discarded. ALSO: If your child borrowed a pair of pants or a shirt from our clinic during the school year, please wash and return these items as soon as possible. We try to keep items on hand for those students who may need a change during the day. We appreciate getting them back because at this time of year our supply is running low.
