Commodore M Ziauddin Alamgir, NGP, fdc, psc, BN M Sc EEE (BUET), MDS (NU), WEAC (UK), FIEB, AANDEC (Nigeria), BUETA Dean, Faculty of Maritime of Governance and Policy Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh Short Biography: Commodore Mohammad Ziauddin Alamgir, (L), NGP, fdc, psc, BN (P No-410) was borne on 01 January 1964 in the village of Baragopaldi under the district of Patuakhali, Bangladesh. After passing Higher Secondary School Certificate he joined Bangladesh Navy in December 1981. He was commissioned in the electrical branch on 15 April 1985 and was promoted to present rank on 24 November 2013. Commodore Zia did his masters in Electrical Engineering (power) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and in Defence Studies from National University, Bangladesh. He did his post graduate diploma in Weapon Engineering from Royal Naval Engineering College UK. Presently he is a PhD scholar. He has also undergone number of professional courses both at home and abroad. These include, PCB Repair, Project Management, Computer Aided Design, Ship Efficiency Management and Data Collection, Junior Staff Course, Naval Staff Course, Senior Naval Command Course and Higher Defence Management Course. Commodore Zia is an alumnus of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Naval Command College, China and National Defence College, Nigeria. He is also a fellow of Institute of Engineers Bangladesh and National Defence College, Nigeria. Presently he is serving as Dean Faculty of Maritime Governance & Policy, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh (BSMRMU). Commodore Zia is a well-travelledperson. He travelled United Kingdom, France, Netherland, German, Luxemburg, Belgium, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives, Denmark, Saudi Arab, Togo, Liberia and Nigeria. Commodore Zia attended number of seminars both at home and abroad. He has also number of publications in newspapers and journals at his credit. He is former Chief Editor MIST Journal and Chief Editor Bangladesh Maritime Journal. His research interest includes Maritime Education, Inland Water Transport, Supply Chain Management and Power System. Commodore Zia is happily married with Kamrun Nahar Zia and blessed with one son Zafir Bin Alamgir and one daughter NazifaTabassum (Zaima). His hobby includes Reading Novels and Listening Music.
