Staff room deck was a great location for this. Lovely way to start the year. 3. Information Booth Would have been more helpful if there had been literature at the booth i.e. maps, class list, P&F handbook etc. Next year all info will be on the new notice board which we are in the process of organizing. 4. Window Tinting for Block 1 Proposal Initially thought Linda Vayro could apply for grant for this. Process very difficult so it was proposed that P&F pay then if / when the next grant comes through, the P&F
could be paid back. Linda provided an email with details and confirmed quotes were $800-$900. R Verheijen proposed we provide $1000 to Linda for window tinting. attendees voted, all in favor. Proposal passed. 5. I-Pad & MacBook Air Proposal The School has requested $50,696.99 to purchase 30 Mac Book Air for grade 3 and 20 i-pads for grade 2. Due to the proposal being above the $20k limit set at last month s meeting the Executives called for absentee votes from the community via the Jubilation newsletter and the P&F facebook site. J Riddell read email sent by Merridee Lynes explaining the benefit of having these. D Sewell and J Riddell also spoke about the benefits for the teachers and children. 8 absentee votes had come in via email and attendees made a silent vote. 7 against, 18 in favor. Proposal passed. D Sewell extended thank you very much on behalf of students & teachers. J Riddell said the school will pay for each device to have donated by the P&F. 6. Early Bird Reading funding Proposal 7. Nancy Carter is running this and gave us up-date on plans. All stock has been ordered, she and Rhonda will set up on the day, volunteers to help pack up at the end. Flyers are being printed and will be placed around the school over the next day or two and a flyer will be sent home to each family on Monday 17 th. Swimming carnival is on 4 th March but we do not have a coordinator for this. D Sewell said that children can purchase food from the canteen at the pool so is not concerned if we do not run a bbq. School has also offered to hold the BBQ if no P&F volunteer comes forward. Parent Information night is being held tonight for all grades except grade 1 which will be tomorrow night. D Sewell is aware that many are not happy with the tuck shop, choices are too limited and prices are too high. R Verheijen has been appointed in a newly created position (paid) to oversee the running of the tuck shop and uniform shop starting today. Main focus will be tuck shop and to increase the usage of Munch Monitors. R Verheijen will speak with parents and students to get an overview of what they would like in the tuck shop.
