In 2005, Terra-Marine was the Lead Consultant in a consortium consisting of Terra-Marine, A&P Appledore, KPMG, HTSPE Limited, Orix Investment Bank, Mohsin Tayyab Ali & NESPAK commissioned to advise the Government of Pakistan on the privatization of the Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works. On formation of Terra-Marine many executives of the Gulfeast team were brought onboard due to their extensive experience in Ship Management under Capt. Khan is one of the founding members of Terra-Marine group. She oversees the business development and new projects of the group. Swera has been actively involved in ship broking and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers since 1982, worked as dry bulk & sales and purchases broker. CAPT. RAFI AHMED - Director Quality Assurance Capt. Rafi Ahmed is responsible for the company s Fleet operations, Quality Assurance programs, Shipboard Management programs and System Audits. He is also responsible for monitoring Company & Fleet quality and safety systems, practices and procedures including the onboard implementation of the ISM Code and promoting a loss prevention culture throughout the fleet. Rafi Ahmed has extensive experience of over 27 years in all aspects of Ship Management. He has served in the Gulf group in Europe and Far East in various offices in middle and senior level positions. The company at one time managed over 100 vessels of various types and tonnages. Rafi Ahmed trained at H.M.S. Worcester in 1954 and commenced active sea service in 1956. Obtained Master s Certificate of Competency in 1964 from the U.K. and served as Master from 1965 to 1974 on general cargo vessels and oil tankers in various reputed companies. [4]

He was Executive Director at Pakistan National Shipping Corporation managing Ships, Crew, Technical Management, Strategic Planning, Ship Sale and Purchase, setting up Joint Venture with associates, negotiating Ship Finance with reputed national and International banks, dealing with International Brokers, Maritime Law firms and Government departments. He has hands on experience in handling Dry and Liquid bulk cargoes. Enjoys good reputation and relations with International Maritime players. CAPT. SYED M. FATMI - Director Operations Capt. Fatmi is a Master Mariner with over twenty years of experience as Master on MPP, Oil Tankers, Bulk carriers, Container Ships, Ro-Ro and Reefer ships. Experience as Instructor at Pakistan Marine Academy, Institute of Maritime Studies, and Karachi teaching Shipboard Operations, ECDIS, MRM, and Ship Security Courses etc for over 8 years. Operations Manager of Marco Trade, Geneva in Nigeria in 1980-81. General Manager, Pak Shaheen (Pvt) Ltd., Karachi, agents for Jugolinija Container Services 1987-89. In charge of agency operations, marketing and off-dock container terminal. General Manager and Chief Executive Mecmar Managements (Pvt) Ltd., Karachi 1992-97 in charge of agency operations, marketing, cargo and ship brokerage. AKHTAR ALAM KHAN - Technical Director As Technical Director, he is responsible for repairs, maintenance, safe and cost effective technical and operational management of the fleet. Has been serving with Terra-Marine Ship Management for 15 years. An experienced member of Ship Management Team obtained his First Class Engineer s Certificate of Competency (Steamship and Motor ship) from U.K in 1972. He has served as Chief Engineer for about 15 years with renowned Shipping Companies which includes Malaysian International Shipping Corporation, Ceylon Shipping Corporation, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and Terra-Marine s managed cargo ships and oil tankers. He served as Engineering Superintendent with various Shipping companies before joining Terra-Marine. [5]

RUBINA OSAMA - Purchasing Manager Mrs. Rubina Osama holds Master of Arts & Economics degree obtained at Karachi in 1998; serving in Company since that time and was promoted to present rank in 2008; presently deals with all stores / spares supplies for management vessels and other clients requiring same. MS. SHAZIA FAROOQUI - Operations Executive Ms. Shazia has been with the Organization from 1997. Involved with the Maritime Industry for last 21 years. She joined Terra-Marine as Fleet Personnel Officer. Over the years, she has served in different departments within the Organization, e.g. the Business Development, Management, Operations and Fleet Personnel. At present, she is responsible for business development /Marketing and the Operations Department for Planning, organizing, supervising and recruiting. She also interviews sea going personnel with Technical Director and Manager Fleet Personnel. She trains seafarers in Maritime English where she teaches them to enhance their communication skills at the Institute of Maritime Studies (Subsidiary of Maritime Studies). She holds a diploma in Logistics and Transportation and a diploma in Leadership and Management from Pakistan Institute of Management. She is a member of CILT. MRS. SHAMIM AKHTAR - Executive Secretary & Manager Placement Services to Managing Director Mrs. Shamim Akhtar holds a Bachelor degree of Public Relation from Lahore. She worked for Emirates Airlines and later worked as an instructor in Shaheen Airlines. She joined Terra-Marine in 1999 for Fleet Personnel Department. Presently, she is the Executive Secretary and Manager Placement Services to the Managing Director. Fleet Personnel and Crew Travel Department MR. TARIQ MAHMOOD - Executive Director Fleet Operations Mr. Tariq Mahmood started his career at sea as a Marine Radio Officer in 1979 with Pakistan National Shipping Corp., and joined Terra-Marine Group in 1989 as Fleet Personnel Officer, later promoted to General Manager Fleet Personnel. Mr. Tariq administers Aeolos Ship Management S.A. Piraeus Greece, Bernhard Schulte Ship Management India, Singapore, Hong Kong and P.R. of China, V.Ships and Terra-Marine Ship Management s managed vessels. He keeps in touch with potential seafarers, checking their mandatory documents and aligns his services to our principals by providing excellent officers & ratings by updating their training records which also includes Flag Documentation, Crew rotation, Briefing, Debriefing, Processing of crew & P&I claims. MS. ALISHBAH KHALID - Secretary to Executive Director Ms. Alishbah Khalid holds a Bachelor degree of Commerce from Karachi. She started her career from Ali Immigration and Royal Enterprise as a Computer Operator, later she worked in Mass International as an Office Assistant. She joined Terra-Marine in 2008 for Fleet Personnel Department. Presently, she is working as a Secretary to the General Manager. CAPT. SYED M. RIZWAN - Manager Marine Personnel Capt. Rizwan joined Pakistan Shipping Lines in 1969 as cadet and in 1974 passed 2 nd Mate s & in 1976 Chief Mate s examination from Pakistan; joined Gulfeast Ship Management Ltd, Hong Kong in 1975. Passed Master (FG) in 1982 and was promoted to Master in 1983 on Gulfeast s Cadet Training Ship. Has 25 years experience as Master on Bulkers, MPPs, Product Tankers, OBOs and VLCCs for the last 19 years at sea on Dynacom Tankers, Greece. Worked as Marine Manager at Gulfeast Hong Kong for 2 years coordinating with chartering department, Ship s Masters for all operational and husbandry matters; preparing dry dock specifications and budgets along with the technical department and supervising dry docking and repair work. Joined Terra-Marine as Instructor in 2016 and presently working as Manager Marine Personnel. Member of Nautical Institute and IFSMA UK. MR. MOHAMMAD AMIR SHEIKH - Manager Marine Personnel Mr. Mohammad Amir Sheikh has done Bachelor of Commerce from Karachi University and there-after went to UK and obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Management System from JUPITER Information Technology. He started his career from UK as Supervisor in 2006 for ESSO / SPAR there after joined Terra-Marine Group as Marine Personnel Officer in December 2012. Sheikh now looks after group business with Shell Ship Management Ltd. UK and Wallem Ship Management Ltd., Hong Kong. MR. MOHAMMAD YASIN MOOSANI - Manager Marine Personnel Mr. Moosani joined Terra-Marine as an Assistant Marine Personnel Officer in 1991 and worked his way up to his present position in 2013. He is responsible for sourcing Seafarers for the principals and verification of all candidates, certificates, qualifications and references. He is well versed with the STCW, MLC 2006 as well as other relevant conventions and Flag State documentation. [7]

MS. ZARRIN NAQVI - Travel Executive Ms. Zarrin compiles all travel data centrally, which includes directories, world-wide flight schedules, fares and visa requirements. She negotiates with travel agents and airlines for most competitive and reduced fares in direct coordination with the management. With Zarrin s enduring background with travel agency and airlines she ensures to arrange for the most economical flights in short notice for crew joining, (cancel / rearrange flight) when required inclusive of, looking after all joining formalities / documentation of crew on vessels managed by TMA. Coordinates to obtain Ok To Board with airlines and agents. Scrutinizes bills from travel agents before payments by accounts department, she has been with Terra- Marine Group since 1997. Finance and Accounts Department MR. IMTIAZ AHMED - Finance Manager Mr. Imtiaz obtained Higher Secondary Education Certificate with Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Karachi. He has been serving in the Company since July 1989, rising from the rank of Assistant Accountant to Finance Manager. During this period, he obtained Degree of Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the Preston Institute of Science and Technology and attended short courses on Awareness of Quality Management System, Understanding of OHSAS 18001-2007, ISO 14001-2004 and Understanding of Internal Auditing for ISO 9001-2008, ISO 14001-2004 and OHSAS 18001-2007 Standards. He heads the Accounts Department. MR. NADEEM ABBAS ZAIDI - Accounts Manager Mr. Nadeem manages ticketing & book keeping accounting systems on tax returns, in addition that he supervises and review s sales staff (to cooperate clients) for Promotion to management. He ensures all documentation of policies from airlines on ticketing and reservations and updates the management on key indicators and gaps for improvements. He, monitors in house reservation systems and attends to other agents and Individual customers maintains effective liaison with foreign embassies and consulates for obtaining visas; completes all formalities for obtaining Ok To Board clearance for prospective travelers and has a personal rapport with all airlines and consulates. Management Information System MR. ASIF KASIM - Manager MIS Mr. Asif has over 25 years of experience in IT industry. He joined this company in 1992 as a Computer Operator and gradually promoted to Network Administrator. Now, he is working as Manager MIS and Quality Assurance Coordinator since July 2005. He is responsible for designing, operations and maintenance of a wide range of computers and management information system. He holds a Master s degree in Information Systems. MS. AMBREEN KIRAN - Software Engineer Ms. Ambreen holds a Bachelor degree of Computer Science from Virtual University in 2015. She achieved many Microsoft Certifications like Programming in HTML5 with JAVASCRIPT and CSS3, Developing Server Virtualization with Windows Server Hyper-V and System Center, Managing Office 365 Identities and Requirements, Enabling Office 365 Services and Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions. She joined Terra-Marine as a Software Engineer in September 2014. She is responsible for development and maintenance of Fleet Personnel Information System and Fleet Disbursement System. [9]

Institute of Maritime Studies A Terra-Marine Initiative [10]

The Institute of Maritime Studies The Institute of Maritime Studies (IMS) was established in Lahore, in November 1996, it is an independent institution in the private sector which is not only a gateway for a career in Merchant Navy. Approved by Director General Port and Shipping (DGP&S), Ministry of Ports and Shipping (now known as Ministry of Maritime Affairs), the IMS offers pre-sea training, preparatory courses for a rewarding career at sea which meets the specific requirements of any shipping company. The institute s policy too constantly training the trainer keeps highly qualified faculty of latest developments and techniques. IMS is certified to ISO 9001-2015 Standard by NQA as well as recognized by the Administration. In September 1997, experts from Warsash Maritime Centre (South Hampton UK), visited the establishment and gave their expert opinion. In September 1998, surveyors from the Administration inspected and approved IMS for maritime training. IMS was set up at Lahore (with a campus in Karachi) by virtue of the following. The city of Lahore is in the heart of Pakistan and considered the center of education. Lahore is within reach of all Provinces of Pakistan. STCW 1978 (as amended) Mandatory Courses PREPARATORY COURSES FOR CLASS IV & III (DECK) IMS offers approved preparatory course to the candidates desirous of taking the examination for certificates of competency for class III & IV (Deck & Engine).
