RETURN & LEARN: ALUMNI MACHINE INTELLIGENCE BOOTCAMP Sponsorship Opportunities
MACHINE INTELLIGENCE & ENGINEERING SCIENCE Society produces billions of gigabytes of data each day, from retail product barcodes to digital images from CCTV cameras, social media posts and data from GPS devices. The Division of Engineering Science s new major in Machine Intelligence, set to receive its first students this fall, will prepare the next generation of experts to leverage this data and enhance fields as diverse as healthcare, finance and autonomous transportation. Students in the new major will take a systems approach, with emphasis on the integration of both computer hardware and software systems. They will study, develop and apply algorithms that can learn and make decisions based on data, and will also gain a deep understanding of how to clean and structure information, build mathematical models, and create computer architectures optimized for artificial intelligence applications. This major draws on expertise in computer, electrical, industrial and robotics engineering to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the field. To celebrate the launch of the new major, the Division of Engineering Science invites alumni and friends back to campus for a one-day EngSci-style bootcamp to learn about this new technology, how it is advancing engineering and society, and opportunities to propel you or your business. Featuring application and tutorial-based speakers, panel discussions and networking opportunities, EngSci s Return & Learn: Alumni Machine Intelligence Bootcamp will provide a unique opportunity to gain new technical skills, learn about the latest applications of machine intelligence and network with industry leaders.
