Teresans Today Spring 2018 Alumnae Association President s Message Maureen Salmon Speltz 72 Spring has sprung and with the recent heat wave, summer is almost here! What does that mean for the Tea House? Lots of gardening to do and a few minor repairs including a Boy Scout s Eagle Project in June for the side brick garden, addressing the safety hazard of the space where the sidewalk does not meet the bricks and causes a tripping hazard. We want to keep the Tea House looking great for all of you returning for reunion in the fall, and for those travelers stopping in Winona to give a tour to your family. We are so blessed to be able to remain in the Tea House! The Board of Directors continue to work hard so that you might enjoy time on campus for reunion or a chapter event, nourish our friendships we hold so dear, and help support scholarships for yourself or other students. We are revisiting our strategic plan so that we are prepared for the future. We want the Sisters of Saint Francis to be proud of the work we ve done over the last 30 years, and we look forward to many more years to come. With you by our side, we can accomplish anything! Blessings to you, Maureen Executive Director s Message Colleen Kocer Peplinski 87 The weather has been a mix this spring, but at last the trees are in full bloom. Just in time for all the celebrations! We ve been busy in our office making plans for reunion coming up October 12-14, 2018, so be sure to make your hotel reservations early (see p 5 for listing). Lots of opportunities for tours, including Saint Marys Hospital/Mayo Campus as well as Trolley Tours of Winona, Mississippi River Boat Tours and the MN Marine Art Museum. We ve really packed it in for a full weekend starting at 9:00 am Friday morning! Make plans today! You may remember the informative piece in the Teresan News from our Treasurer, Mary Frohnauer 77 (pages 35-37). This highlights the overall financial picture this past year. Please consider giving $100 or more to help support our Alumnae Office so that we may continue to serve you. We want to be here to plan your next reunion, process scholarship applications, host chapter area events, and be the point of contact for you the next time you need CST transcripts, archives, or an address for your favorite CST alumna. Without your yearly membership, our staff will not be around to plan reunion, or update the CST database, or answer your phone calls/emails/letters. We think it s a bargain at only $50 annually, just $ 4.17 per month, less than a cup of coffee. The connection we provide to CST is priceless! Do you value your membership in the Alumnae Association? Do you treasure your Teresan and Franciscan legacy? If so, please support our services. Share your time, talents and treasures today! Peace, Colleen

Treasurer s Report by Mary Frohnauer 77 In the winter edition of this year s Teresan News, the Alumnae Board published what will become an annual Treasurer s Report for all of you alumnae out there. We feel that it is important to convey to everyone a clear understanding of what keeps us ticking. If you did not receive the Teresan News this year as a current dues paying member, I encourage you to get your dues in on July 1 st for the new year so you won t miss this information next issue. Please take a look at the Treasurer s Report information at: https://www.cstalums.org Click on Newsletters; then Teresan News 2017-2018, see pages 35-37. The amount of scholarship money that has been awarded since 1992 (over $1 million!!!) should make each of you proud, especially when you look at the pie chart that show that assets in the scholarship fund are greater now than when we started. I would also like you to look carefully at the pie charts for the Alumnae Association s income and expenses. Those graphics highlight the tremendous importance of annual dues in keeping your Association s doors open. Please remember this when you receive your reminder for this year s dues. We welcome your feedback about our first annual Treasurer s Report. Thanks for your continued support! info@cstalums.org Gratefully yours, Mary MEMBERSHIP LEVELS SAINT TERESA $250+ Linda Hines Laak 1979 Donna Frey 1968 * SAINT CLARE $100+ Katherine Rauscher Scheuer 1953 Helen Gallivan Jost 1963 Patricia McGinnis Dalsin 1965 Jane Callaghan Pederson 1970 Jacqueline Thilges Kluck 1973 Nancy Byron McLoone 1973 Deedee Schubert Van Dyke 1974 Pamela Lesser 1974 Karla Weber Feltes 1976 Ana Iniguez 1976 * Stephanie Condron Prevost 1976 Eileen Gorman Kozak 1979 Sandra Mary Maskell 1984 Kristin Thiele Holien 1986 FIFTY-ONE PLUS ($51+) Mary Wagner Prindiville 1958 *Regrettably omitted from the Teresan News 2017-18
