The Levine Scholars Program (UNC-Charlotte)- Four-year scholarship includes full tuition, room and board, a grant to implement a service project of the Scholar s own design, and four summers of experiences that will develop leadership skills, social awareness, and an international perspective. Expected Profile: Student must be applicants for freshman enrollment at UNC-Charlotte, GPA of 3.8-4.0 (unweighted), score 1800-2400 on the three combined sections of SAT or 29-39 on ACT, commitment to community service, passion for knowledge, and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that beckons fellow students toward a higher standard. Fall Semester Additional Information: College Application Week- November 12-16, 2012. College Application Day at Reid Ross will be held on November 14 th in the computer lab from 8:00 to 2:30. During College Application Week many colleges and universities in North Carolina participate by waiving the application fee. Open House Information- Please check your senior Edmodo page for College/University campuses open house information. High School Planning Timeline (12 th Grade) Keep Studying and avoid Senioritis. Discuss your post high school plans with your parents, teachers, and school counselor. Review your transcripts. Make sure YOU are on track to Graduate. Arrange college campus visits/tours. Research majors and colleges that offer your program and then visit. Register for SAT (collegeboard.com) and ACT (act.org) check to see if testing is required for admission at your institution of interest and research scholarship information at www.finaid.com and save your Money! Visit with Military Recruiters. Revisit your transcripts and request letters of recommendations from teachers and others who know you well. Select the top 3-4 colleges you plan to apply, note dates and deadlines, visit financial aid/scholarship pages of the school of your choice. Early Decision and Early Action Applications are due Oct. 1- Nov 1. Apply for Major Scholarships at the surrounding institutions. Check websites for current information, dates, deadlines, criteria. Request and pay for transcripts. Make a final list of schools that interest you continue completing your applications. Research additional financial aid information and scholarship opportunities. Submit your college admission application. Take the ASVAB-aptitude/career test used by the military. College applications are completed. Register to take the SAT, ACT, SATII, or Accuplacer if needed for admission and make sure official test scores are being sent to the colleges to which you are applying. Watch your mailbox if you submitted an early decision application. Remind your parents to get financial documents ready to complete and submit your FAFSA application for financial aid starting January 1. Continue to Study. Stay organized.
