(a) Salvaged servceable supples, ncludng useable enemy supples, wll"be turned over to ssung agences as soon as practcable. (b) Reparable materel and parts wll be turned over to approprate servce for dsposton. c. General. (l) Collecton of heavy ordnance, sgnal and engneer equpment wll be accomplshed as follows: (a) These materals wllbe spotted by salvage collecton personnel. They wll nform the Offcer n Charge «f Salvage and Captured Materel operatons of the locaton and condton of the equpment. «11.I 1. The Offcer n Charge of Salvage and Captured Materel wllnotfy the respectve servces of the locaton of the equpment to be salvaged. 2. r Evacuaton of such salvage and captured materel wllbe drect to the respectve servce supply ponts or mantenance unts. (T) Transportaton necessary to move salvage or captured materel drectly to the respectve servce surroly dumps wllbe furnshed by the Shore Party Commander on request of the Offcer n Charge of salvage and captured materel collecton. (a) Records wll be kept of all property^delvered drectly to the varous supply dumps by the salvage collectng personnel (3) In collectng salvage and cantured materel, the followng practces wllbe observed. Ths property wllbe placed n an envelope marked wth all possble dentfyng markngs whch wllassst n determnng the owner,.e., ndvdual clothng markngs and unt code organzatonal markngs and data from dentfcaton tags. bb. When unt can be dentfed, property wllbe forwarded and recept obtaned. (c) Gassed clothng end equpment wll be handled only by personnel wearng gas masks and mpermeable protectve clothng. Chemcal personnel attached to salvage unts wll supervse the handlng of gassed equpment. (f) Care should be taken that all salvaged and captured frearms are unloaded. Rfles should be dpped n an ol bath or other preservatve, when avalable, and securely ted n bundles of three, two butts down, n such manner that they wllbe njured as lttle as possble durng transportaton. Machne guns, automatc rfles, etc., should be wrapped n bags or canvas and planly tagged to ndcate contents. (g) Allparts of unservceable artcles whch can be used n remanufactorng wllbe salvaged. In th6 class are ncluded parts of frearms of every descrpton, automoble parts, empty shell cases, tres, boxes, reels, cable, copper, brass and metal n general. 11.I 1. Empty pallets, fuel drums and compressed gas* cylnders wllbe evacuated to salvage collecton dunros. 3. Collecton of enemy salvage end ca-ptured materel wllbe performed n the same manner as the collectng of salvage of our forces. a. All captured materel wllbe segregated n salvage dumps. b.
