Paul O Connell Chief of Police Officer Jennifer Bickhardt Public Information Officer 954-390-2150 954-866-5848 (Cell) jbickhardt@wmpd.org PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (Wilton Manors, FL)- On February 12, 2017 shortly after 4:00 a.m. the Wilton Manors Police Department (WMPD) received a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 100 block of N.E. 21 Court. As the victim (Denis Kladchikhin) walked home by himself, two suspects who were hiding behind a nearby bush approached and attacked him while two other involved suspects remained in a getaway vehicle, a black Honda CRV. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. Once Kladchikhin observed the suspects he began running, but the two suspects on foot continued to chase after him and the other two suspects remained in the getaway vehicle which also followed behind. The two suspects on foot were picked up by the getaway vehicle which continued to pursue Kladchikhin. One of the suspects then got out of the vehicle and again approached Kladchikhin striking him with the handgun. The suspects took Kladchikhin s personal property and fled from the scene leaving him defenseless on the ground. The incident was captured on closed circuit television and through an investigation; Detectives from WMPD were able to identify the four suspects involved as eighteen-year-old Darrion Vankleeck, Corey Dukes, Adolfo Med Vela, and Anne Feeley. Darrion Vankleeck was taken into custody on February 17, 2017 and is currently being held at the Broward County Sheriff s Office Main Jail for one count of Robbery with a Firearm, Grand Theft more than $300 less than $5,000, Criminal attempt to solicit conspire, Tamper with or fabricate physical evidence, and a Juvenile court order for a prosecution previously deferred-case re-opened involving larceny-petit theft. Corey Dukes was taken into custody on February 17, 2017 and is currently being held at the Broward County Sheriff s Office Main Jail for one count of Robbery with a Firearm, Grand Theft more than $300 less than $5,000, Criminal attempt to solicit conspire, and three counts of Warrant- Violation of Pretrial. Adolfo Med Vela was taken into custody on February 17, 2017 and is currently being held at the Broward County Sheriff s Office Main Jail for one count of Robbery with a Firearm, Grand Theft more than $300 less than $5,000, and Criminal attempt to solicit conspire. Anne Feeley was taken into custody on February 19, 2017 and was charged with one count of Public Order Crimes- Accessory After the Fact. Investigators fully evaluated whether or not this was a hate crime, and currently there is no evidence to indicate hate was a motivating factor, rather this was a crime of opportunity. The arrests made in this case are not linked with the home invasion robbery that occurred on February 18, 2017 and investigators are continuously conducting their investigation on that case. The Wilton Manors Police Department would like to remind you to always be aware of your surroundings, walk in well-lit areas, and if you observe a suspicious person(s), vehicle(s), and/or activity in your neighborhood you are encouraged to call 954-764-HELP(4357) or 9-1-1. The Video of this armed robbery can be viewed at: Bit.ly/wmpd1 Please see the attached photos of the suspects. Page 2 of 6
