Research Investment Fund (RIF) Overview Part of CITB s Flexible Fund portfolio Aim is to assist industry in developing new research That provides evidence relating to their sector or specialism That addresses skills gaps and shortages The need was identified following a review of the Flexible Fund Where insufficient evidence was available to support some applications due to a lack of good research This approach will improve the construction evidence-base
Research Investment Fund More details, who can apply Applicants must be Federations working with their members It is a simple single stage application Successful applications will be fully funded A pilot scheme Closes on the 15 th August 2016 The outputs will run for six months to enable research applications to be scoped, procured and managed through to a successful outcome The pilot has a fund of up to 100,000 available to support UP TO three bids
Research Investment Fund How it will work Applicants invited to define the research issue and demonstrate its need CITB s Research team will support the successful Federations throughout the process Each RIF application will be evaluated by CITB research experts. CITB will be available to discuss proposals before applications are submitted. This will include advising where existing relevant research already exists Evaluation criteria and guidance will be included on the application form The pilot application form is a WORD document downloadable from the RIF webpage There will be an appeals process for unsuccessful bids
