Introduction is a purpose built unit providing care and support for patients and their families. The building consists of an eight bed inpatient unit, a central general sitting and reception area known as "The Green Conservatory Area" and a Day Care Unit. This booklet has been designed to provide information about the services available for you and your family. Please remember that everyone in the hospital is concerned with your comfort and well being and will be happy to answer any questions or deal with any problems you may have. Philosophy Through our respect for an individual's needs we aim to maximise quality of life, preserve dignity and provide choice enabling patients family and carers to remain in control of their lives. Care should create an environment for patients and families/carers which is conducive to independence, self esteem and participation in daily life. Care should ensure that patient and family/carers needs are assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated on an individual basis. Care should ensure that each individual is enabled to be as informed of his/her condition as he/she wishes to be.
