UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships New activity: call launched April 2018, aiming to fund 550 fellows with two calls per year over the next three years Support for early career researchers and innovators with outstanding potential in universities, businesses, and working with other research and user environments Open across the whole UKRI remit Provide long-term funding (4-7 years) to tackle adventurous programmes or multidisciplinary questions Academic employer commitment: tapered salary support and up-front follow-on position UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships Further information: UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship web pages

International Exchanges Awards Aim: The scheme stimulates new collaborations between scientists in the UK and overseas through either a one-off visit or bilateral travel. Amount of Grant: 3,000 for a one-off visit and between 6,000 to 12,000 for multiple visits (one-two years) Currently open Deadline: Wednesday 30 May 2018. 3pm Newton International Fellowships Aim: The scheme provides the opportunity for the best post-doctoral researchers from all over the world to undertake research at UK research institutions for a period of two years. The scheme covers the broad range of the natural and social sciences and the humanities. Newton International Fellowship alumni are also eligible to receive up to 6,000 annually for five years following the tenure of their Fellowship to support continuing networking activities with UK-based researchers. The scheme is jointly run by the British Academy, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal Society. Amount of Grant: 99,000 over a two-year period

University Research Fellowship This Fellowship provides the opportunity to build an independent research career. Those appointed are expected to be strong candidates for permanent posts in universities at the end of their fellowships. Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship This scheme offers a recognised first step into an independent research career for outstanding scientists at an early stage of their research career who require a flexible working pattern due to personal circumstances, such as parenting or caring responsibilities or health-related reasons. Sir Henry Dale Fellowship This scheme is for outstanding post-doctoral scientists wishing to build their own UK-based, independent research career addressing an important biomedical question.

Enabling Academic-Industry Engagement Research Chairs and Senior Research Fellowships Strengthen the links between industry and academia by supporting exceptional academics in UK universities to undertake user-inspired research that meets the needs of industrial partners. Industrial Fellowships Enables mid-career academics to undertake a collaborative research project in an industrial environment with the aim to strengthen the relationship between universities and industry

Early-Career Fellowships Research Fellowships and Engineering for Development Research Fellowships Support early-career academics to establish successful research careers and encourage the best researchers to remain in the academic sector. Creativity and Interdisciplinarity Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowships Enable academics to reinvigorate their research careers or start new lines of research Leverhulme Trust APEX awards in partnership the British Academy and the Royal society, these awards provide established academics with an exciting opportunity to pursue genuine interdisciplinary research to benefit the wider society.

Commonwealth Scholarships 1. Commonwealth Rutherford Fellowships - Up to 50 fellowships are available for researchers to spend one or two years at an eligible UK university conducting post doctoral research. 2. Singapore Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships in Innovation - Scholarship award the scholarship is awarded to students undertaking a post graduate programme in a UK University. The programme should include an aspect of research or development in an innovation related area. - Fellowship award : The Fellowship will support applicants who have a clear plan of research into an area of innovation, have an agreement from a University, Company, or other body in the UK that the applicant can undertake a fellowship with them, and be citizens of Singapore.

Scholarships awarded by the UK Chevening Scholarship Chevening offers two awards- Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships. Recipients are selected by British Embassies and High Commissions around the world. Upon completion of their programme, scholars will become part of the Chevening Alumni, an extensive network of professionals in a wide variety of industries. To be eligible, you must be able to return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended, have at least two years work experience, and have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry into a postgraduate programme at a UK University, among others.
