Dear Crafter/Artisan, Discover Presque Isle Days (DPI), is an annual three day celebration of Presque Isle State Park and serves as the Presque Isle Partnership s largest annual fundraiser. The purpose of the weekend is to bring awareness to the diverse natural ecosystems throughout the park and the numerous recreational opportunities it offers, and to educate visitors on the importance of preserving our natural environment. Over the past five years, attendance has estimated to average more than 100,000 throughout the event. The celebration occupies key points throughout the 3,200 acre peninsula such as Beach 11 where one will encounter the ARTS & CRAFT SHOW, food and beverage vendors, take part in family friendly nature awareness activities, experience live music on the beach, a sand sculpture competition, and enjoy a giant bonfire. Visitors can tour the Presque Isle Lighthouse, take a free boat tour of the lagoons and learn about the plants, animals and fish that inhabit the park and so much more. This year will mark the 27 th anniversary of the three day celebration of Presque Isle State Park. The official dates and exhibit times for Discover Presque Isle Days Craft Show 2018 are as follows: July 27 th, 2018 July 28 th, 2018 July 29 th, 2018 9:00 AM 8:00 PM 9:00 AM 8:00 PM 9:00 AM 4:00 PM

Again this year, we will require a completed application and a one or two page document with photos of your crafts, you making your crafts, as well as your booth set-up to be juried for your admittance into the show. Do not send actual photographs as they are expensive and bulky. All crafters/artisans need to submit the photo document, even if you have been a participant in the past. The deadline to receive the application, Hold Harmless Agreement, and photo document is May 11 th, 2018. Jury will begin shortly thereafter. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT WITH YOUR APPLICATION. The jury selects applicants based on several criteria; originality, authenticity of workmanship, and booth presentation. Items handcrafted by the crafter/artisan is of the utmost importance and every applicant will be juried (previous participation in our show does not guarantee acceptance). Upon acceptance into the show you will receive notice and an invoice for the amount due via email. Reminder: this is a Hand- Crafted Arts & Crafts Show, not a retail event. If your success is dependent on selling retail items, this is not a show for you. Anyone selling anything other than their own hand crafted items made in the USA will be asked to leave with no refund. This year we are asking all participants to donate an item with a value of $30 or more, no gift certificates please. If accepted, payment is due in full by June 15 th, 2018. Booth Spaces and Fees: Fees are determined by booth space size requested. The layout has changed from last year to better accommodate crafters, artisans, and patrons. All spaces should have ample shade throughout the day. The layout will accommodate a 10 x 10 tent with a minimum of a 2 buffer between exhibitor s tents (included in overall space dimensions). Parking: Crafters and Artisans will be given a numbered parking pass to hang on the review mirror that corresponds with the booth number and a designated space located 50-150 yards from your booth. Those who have a double booth will receive two parking passes if necessary. All exhibitors are to use designated parking area with pass. If you are handicapped, we will try to make every effort to locate your vehicle near your tent. We will need verification of a valid handicapped parking placard issued to you and the vehicle you will be parking at the event. Security & Responsibility: There will be security personnel on duty overnight July 26-28, 2018. Exhibitors should secure their displays in case of inclement weather. It will be the exhibitor s responsibility to supply their own stakes and weights (bring both) to secure their tents. By acceptance of this agreement, the exhibitor expressly releases the Presque Isle Partnership, DCNR (Department of Conservation and Natural Resources), Presque Isle State Park, City of Erie, and all representatives/employees/volunteers from all liabilities for any damages, injury, or loss to any person, goods or private property from any cause. Please use the checklist below before sending your application: 1. Application Form (Signed) 2. Hold Harmless Agreement (Signed) 3. Photo Document (Include pictures of booth, arts/crafts, exhibitor workshop, & item to be donated)

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES to keep in mind as you consider applying for the show: 1. This event occurs rain or shine. Be prepared for wind, rain and/or heat/cold. 2. This is an outdoor show. No refunds will be issued in the event of inclement weather. 3. The time changes allow everyone an additional 5 hours to sell merchandise, therefore we will have NO Friday morning set-up. 4. All fees are non-refundable and benefit Presque Isle State Park. 5. Only items hand-crafted by the exhibitor are permitted. No kits, purchased resin items, etc. will be permitted for this show. The jury committee is taking extra care this year to eliminate buy/ sell items. Anyone selling retail items at the show will be asked to leave without a refund. 6. Due to limited space and cost, there will not be a large tent for those who do not have their own. 7. All exhibitors are required to donate one hand-crafted item worth $30 or more, no gift certificates. 8. Due to a resounding request for shade, the booth spaces will be in a different area than last year which will also allow for more visitor parking. DCNR park maintenance is working diligently on the new site at Beach 11 and a map will not be available at this time. Final placement of crafters is at the full discretion of the event committee - no exceptions. 9. You must provide your own tent and accoutrements, i.e. tables, chairs, displays, weight bags & stakes, etc. 10. Please provide a detailed description of your booth items on the form (attach an additional sheet if necessary) and include your photo document on 8 ½ X 11 paper (NOT actual photographs) of items you will be selling, workshop, and booth set-up. 11. Electricity will be available to crafters for the entire show for an additional $30 fee. Booth spaces with electricity will be grouped together for logistical reasons. No exhibitor generators will be permitted unless authorized by Event Coordinator or Zero Fossil Rep. Electricity needs will be coordinated by Zero Fossil. 12. No signs or products are to be set up outside of your booth space. 13. Exhibitor dogs must be kept on a leash or in a kennel and kept quiet. Incessant barking will not be tolerated. 14. All exhibitors will have from 4-8 PM on Sunday, July 29 th to pack-up their booth. Passes to pull your vehicle up to your booth site will not be given until the exhibitor is completely torn down and ready to pack up and go. 15. The crafter is responsible for leaving the area in the condition that it was originally received, i.e. removal of all debris such as boxes and trash. Failure to do so will reflect upon you for future consideration/acceptance during jurying process. 16. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Upon acceptance into the show you will receive an invoice for the amount due, booth space location, and check-in time via email. 17. The undersigned acknowledges that he/she has read and understood the foregoing, and that he/she has been advised to consult with an attorney if he/she has any questions and further acknowledges that he/she must abide by all the RULES of the Discover Presque Isle Craft Show. RULES: ALL ITEMS DISPLAYED AND SOLD MUST BE HANDCRAFTED BY THE EXHIBITOR No exhibitor may use the PRESQUE ISLE PARTNERSHIP logo without the prior approval of the Executive Director of the Presque Isle Partnership. Exhibitors will not be allowed to nail, screw or attach anything to trees, signs, historical items/fixtures, etc. All displays must look professional, clean and safe for customers. All trash must be placed in the trash receptacles provided. No alcoholic beverages or drugs will be permitted. Exhibitor dogs MUST be on a leash or in a kennel and kept quiet. Incessant barking will not be tolerated. All exhibitors must be open Friday 9am-8pm, Saturday 9am-8pm, and Sunday 9am-4pm. No refund will be given to exhibitors requesting to leave early.
