Division Values: Service... Collaboration... Integrity... Accountability April 2009 Welcome New Division Staff! The following individuals were hired between January 1, 2009 and March 31, 2009. Please join us in welcoming them to Cal State Fullerton and the Division of Administration and Finance: Dirk DeJong Building Services Engineer Physical Plant McCarthy Hall 108 West Dirk DeJong joined Physical Plant as a Building Services Engineer reporting to Linda Delatorre, Manager of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Trades, on January 20, 2009. Previously, Dirk worked as a General Manager for R&D Air Conditioning Company in Bellflower for 20 years and Assistant Manager for DeJong & Sons Hardware and Appliance Company for 18 years. Dirk enjoys repairing computers, photography, and fixing stuff. Born in Kansas, Dirk currently lives in Lakewood with his wife, Lynn, and three children, Breanna 21, Kelly 14, and Abigail (Abby) 7. Rima Tjokrobintoro Accountant I Accounting Services College Park 351 Rima joined Accounting Services as an Accountant I reporting to Steven Yim, Controller, on February 23, 2009. Rima, who received her bachelor s degree in Accounting cum laude from Cal State Fullerton in August 2008, worked as a student assistant in Accounting Services from February 2007 through June 2008 and then as a temporary Accountant I in Accounting Services from June 2008 through January 2009. Born in Indonesia, Rima currently lives in Fullerton and enjoys food, movies, and books. Individuals on the Move The following individuals have worked at Cal State Fullerton for some time and were appointed to new positions in the Division of Administration and Finance between January 1, 2009 and March 31, 2009. Jannel Hope Business Analyst Student Financial Services College Park 315 Jannel joined Student Financial Services as a Business Analyst reporting to Leslie Wolbers, Associate Director for Student Financial Services, on January 13, 2009. Jannel has worked at Cal State Fullerton for over 15 years, including three years in her most recent prior position serving as a CMS Business Analyst in the IT Division. Jannel lives in Huntington Beach with her husband, Tony, and six year old twin sons, Kyle and Joshua, and enjoys scrapbooking. Hien M. Nyugen Accounting Technician III Student Financial Services University Hall 180 Hien Nyugen joined Student Financial Services reporting to Zia Qureshi, Associate Director for Student Financial Services, on February 2, 2009. Hien worked previously in Accounts Payable as a Check Analyst for two and half years, has a B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Accountancy at Cal State Fullerton. Born in Vietnam, Hien currently lives in Garden Grove. Zarita Owens-Moore Accounting Technician III Accounts Payable College Park 380 Zarita Owens-Moore joined Accounts Payable as an Accounting Technician III reporting to Mary Ann Torres, Director of Accounts Payable, on March 4, 2009. Zarita most recently served as Head Cashier at Cal State Fullerton s Student Health and Counseling Center where she worked for 7 years. Born in Singapore, Zarita currently lives in Placentia and enjoys watching Nascar racing. Hoang B. Rivera Accounting Technician I

Student Financial Services University Hall 180 Hoang joined Student Financial Services as an Accounting Technician I reporting to Zia Qureshi, Associate Director for Student Financial Services, on January 2, 2009. Hoang s most recent experience was in Parking and Transportation Services as an Accounting Technician where she worked for six months. Hoang, who earned a BA in Business Administration from Whittier College, was born in Vietnam and currently lives in Costa Mesa. Hoang enjoys spending time with her 2 month-old daughter, Jaylene Adela Rivera. Celebrations! Without the awareness and understanding of how to communicate effectively, relationships can be challenged and overall success compromised. Participants will be asked to take a temperament assessment in advance and bring the results of this assessment to the workshop to assist in better understanding their personal communication skills and how they and others deal with the complexities and surprises of human interaction. The lab is now located in CP 780, as is Barbara Mullinax, Administrative Support Coordinator, who recently moved from CP 700 and is responsible for coordinating use of the lab. Barbara will also continue to coordinate the Fee Waiver Program, Titan Excellence Award Program, and the ETD library, which is also in the process of being relocated from CP 700 to CP 780. Christopher Hall, Labor/Employee Relations Manager, and Elizabeth Castillo, Labor/Employee Relations Coordinator, also recently moved from CP 770 to CP 780. Barbara Mullinex stands next to the newly relocated HRS computer training lab and future home of the ETD library in CP 780 Need to reserve the HRS computer training lab (CP 780)? Administration and Finance IT A series of moves are underway to house all Administration and Finance IT staff in the same work area for the first time. A wall separating existing IT offices on the third floor of CP from the Facilities Management reception area and offices previously occupied by Risk Management (which was relocated to the 7th floor of CP in July 2008) has been removed to provide IT with additional contiguous office space. IT Director, Welson Badal, and Rachel Junn, Assistant to the Director, moved into the former Risk Management Offices, leaving room to accommodate additional IT staff in CP 340. The Document Management Center (DMC) operation and staff, Darlene Horton, Deborah Johnson, and Kathy Wood, currently located in CP 348, will be The wall is down! relocated to the former HRS computer training lab (CP 311), which recently moved to CP 780 as indicated above. By the end of June 2009, five existing IT staff: Rachel Houghton, Khoi Luu, Thao Nguyen, Noel Runcie, and Eugene Sim, currently located in T-250 at the north end of campus will join the rest of the IT team in CP 340. IT will maintain a small temporary satellite office in T-250 that will be utilized while working on projects for departments located at the north end of campus. The remainder of T-250 will be utilized by Physical Plant and initial Physical Plant plans for this space include relocating Doug Kind, Commissioning Manager, from T-100 along with existing project files currently housed in T-200 and providing office space for the State Fire Marshall, currently located in EH&IS. Kathy Wood, Document Management Center, prepares for the DMC move to CP 311. Military Service Lance Corporal George Plimpton, son of Maria L. Gonzalez, Compensation Manager in Human Resource Services, was deployed on February 7, 2009 to Iraq and is proudly serving his country. His anticipated return date is September, 2009.
