They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). In addition, some jobs also require: - Transcripts - Copies of job-related Licenses or Certificates This is a Career Program Position (CP) CP 29 Duties: Serves as an Electrician in the Engineering Division, and Building Management Office responsible for the maintenance, modification, repair, installation and inspection of a HQs Complex electrical systems and equipment. Upgrades inundated electrical problems discovered during maintenance. Determines that designs and layouts when furnished are correct. When blueprints or layouts are not furnished, solicits input from a multi-discipline of customers, including engineers to determine type and method of new installation to provide. Provides engineering personnel with comprehensive list of construction materials required for each job, taking into account economics along with integrity of the project goal. Builds electrical power distribution systems from feed to switchgear, installation of transformers, feeds to distribution panels, and individual electrical circuits and provides circuits. Coordinates electrical requirements with communication requirements and provides installation for that cable and circuitry when applicable. Installs large motor/starter systems, including across the line, reduced voltage, variable speed drive control systems, air handling units, compressors and pump lifting systems. Constructs all outdoor electrical power feeds utilizing duct bank, schedule 80 PVC pipe and constructed manholes. Projects and plans ahead from the initiation to job to completion. Experience required: Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is

typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrician without more than normal supervision. This includes experience routing and connecting wiring to electrical or electronic systems, components, and/or equipment; and selecting the tools and equipment needed for electrical work. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability To Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work) Ability To Use Electrical Drawings Knowledge of Electrical Equipment Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Theory and Instruments (Electrical Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices Trouble shooting (electrical) Physical Effort: Repairs in hard to reach places, requires working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently carries and sets up tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh over 20 pounds. Working Conditions: Work inside buildings and outdoors during all types of environmental conditions. Subject to contact with dirt, soiling of hands and clothing, loud machinery noise, electrical shock, electrical burns, cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Work area may be very hot, may be very cold. Extreme safety precautions to be always exercised by the electrician. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 1. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI) 2. You will be required to provide proof of U.S Citizenship.

IAW Change 3 to AR 600-85 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. 4. Travel will be required 25% or less of the time. 5. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. 6.
