Work, Life, Balance: The next step in Leadership April 28 30, 2017 Peppermill, Reno Dear Colleagues, Our ACSA Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4 North State Spring Conference April 28 to 30, 2017, strives to bring forward an array of professional development opportunities that are unmatched in northern California. Previous attendees have found much needed support, camaraderie, and professional skill development to be a part of the foundational structure of this conference, and we wish to continue that tradition for all Northern California Educators and beyond! Hall Davidson Wes Smith Bryan Goodwin Barbara Jean Hicks Hall Davidson is director of the Discovery Educator Network, a new division of Discovery Communications focused on moving into the world of channel-less video-on -demand. Before coming to Discovery, he served for 15 years as director of educational services at KOCE-TV, a PBS station in Orange County, CA. He serves on the board for California's Computer- Using Educators. Dr. Wesley Smith is executive director of the Assn. of Calif. School Administrators, the largest school leadership group in the nation. ACSA is foremost a champion for the state s more than 6 million students. Having served in a variety of school leadership roles, Dr. Smith understands the intricacies and influences in public education. During an interactive presentation, futurist Hall Davidson will demonstrate how technology can be integrated into classroom instruction to improve student engagement and academic achievement. Participants will then experience what today s digital learning environments look like through innovative technologies such as virtual reality and explore inquiry-based digital learning opportunities.
