Jefferson Chamber 2014 Event Summary Annual Gala Projected Date: Spring, 2014 Average Attendance: 600 Audience: Elected officials, community and business leaders representing diverse industries Description: This entertaining cocktail party celebrates the Jefferson Chamber and its members with hors d oeuvres, drinks, live music and a silent auction. This event serves as a prime opportunity to honor those that have made significant contributions to Jefferson Parish and the Chamber. Key community supporters and business leaders are recognized. The program features a high-profile guest speaker along with the official instillation of the new Board of Directors. Typically held on the second Friday of each month from 7:50 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., attendees are invited to network at a table of eight for two 20 minute sessions. With an average attendance of almost 60, this event is a great way for members to get involved with the Chamber and meet fellow members. Business Card Exchange Dates: Every Other Month in 2014 for a total of 6/year Average Attendance: 75-100 Description: Networking is a focus in this fun after-hours event! The Business Card Exchange is one of the most popular business networking events in the area. Each event is set up to make it comfortable to meet new clients, catch up with old friends and walk out with new business. In its 17 th year, this event boasts over 700 people and 1800 pounds of Louisiana mudbugs! Join us as we continue to build relationships and create business opportunities. Sponsorship Opportunities: $300 - $5,000 Day at the Legislature Projected Date: April or May, 2014 Average Attendance: 30 maximum Description: Join leaders of the Jefferson Chamber on a trip to the State Capitol to meet with Jefferson Parish's Legislative Delegation and Parish officials. The day includes a legislative briefing and lunch with the legislative delegation and an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and receive information on the status of key legislation critical to Jefferson Parish and the business community. Golf Tournament Projected Date: Fall, 2014 Average Attendance: 144 Description: As a prominent and well-attended Jefferson Parish event, the annual Golf Classic provides members the opportunity to enjoy a day on the links with both business colleagues and potential clients, and network with Jefferson Chamber leadership, board members and key decision makers in our community. In its 14th year, this tournament is limited to only 144 players and the 72 par, 18-hole tournament provides the ideal forum to enhance your company s image within the local business world. Business teams of five will compete in a Go-Kart endurance race for fame, bragging rights and prizes! Sponsorship Opportunities: $150 - $5000 Jefferson Chamber Youth Leadership Projected Date: Fall 2014 May 2015 Average Attendance: Approximately 35 students participate Description: Adapted from the Leadership Jefferson program, JCYL is a seven-month leadership program for high school students. Their mission is to provide a lifelong commitment to leadership in Jefferson Parish. The program includes an opening & closing event as well as education on various relevant topics. One of their many positive learning experiences is presenting to the Jefferson Parish Council. Sponsors contribute to the success of the program and gain exposure to emerging and existing leaders both participants and program presenters. Leadership Jefferson Projected Date: September 2014 May 2015 Average Attendance: Maximum of 30 individuals participate annually Description: Through an eight-month training process, Leadership Jefferson provides individuals with a clearer understanding of the total community and the dynamics of social and economic change. Leadership skills training, lectures and discussions are all part of a comprehensive curriculum designed to enhance professional and volunteer careers. The program includes an opening & closing retreat and eight individual sessions (one session per month) on a variety of topics. Sponsors contribute to the success of the program and gain exposure to emerging and existing leaders. Themes cover finance, healthcare, government, marketing and more. All luncheons are promoted and open to the community. Luncheons held each year include but are not limited to Excellence in Education Luncheon Description: This luncheon awards the top principals, teachers and students from Jefferson Parish Public Schools and features a guest speaker who is a leader in education. Event is usually televised. Small Business Leadership Awards Luncheon Description: In recognition of the small business community s contribution to the American economy and society, the President of the United States designates one week each year as National Small Business Week. Leading up to National Small Business Week 2014, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), in conjunction with the Chamber, hosts this special event to honor and present awards to local entrepreneurs and those who support and champion small business. LABI Legislative Luncheon Description: Each year, the President & CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI) presents legislation that they will support during the upcoming legislative session. As the state's chamber of commerce, LABI represents a wide variety of business owners throughout the state. Jefferson Parish's legislative delegation is invited to attend the luncheon. The goal of this ride is to continually enhance the awareness of quality of life amenities, recreational venues and the Bicycle Master Plan in Jefferson Parish. Washington, D.C. Mardi Gras Projected Date: February 20-22, 2014 Average Attendance: Thousands of individuals attend Washington Mardi Gras. Description: The Jefferson Chamber holds three major events at the Washington Hilton Hotel during Washington Mardi Gras.
