2.1 Key people in the organisation. The company is owned and operated by Daniel Scullin. Daniel previously operated as Dan s Mobile Blasting for 16 years prior to establishing National Blast Pty Ltd. Daniel has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and is now focussing on a management role with training and quality control as his main priority. Joanne Jenkins is the Administration Officer who has over 20 years business experience and ensures that work place Health and Safety procedures are followed and met and provides the administration support relating to all day to day activities of the National Blast Pty LTD The remaining key staff are the blasters themselves. National Blast Pty Ltd pride themselves on training with a detailed training programme and accountability procedure to ensure staff meet the high standards we offer our clients. 2.3. Equipment. Capability Information. Specialises in abrasive blasting using various materials including but not limited to glass and garnet. Large and small jobs both inside and outside. Abrasive Blasting can be used in many fields including but limited to:- Rust removal, exposure of stone in concrete, paint removal, anti foul removal, National Blast Pty Ltd is unique in the market place by having a 425cfm size compressors to enable fast and effective results to complete the task completed faster making it more cost effective and minimise down time to the customer. All electrical equipment comply with AS3012 standards. 2.4. Specialised Capabilities / Certificates Held: Blasters hold white cards, elevated work plate form, confined space certificates and a minimum Heavy Rigid Driving Licence. 2.2. Competitive skills The Managing Director remains hands on and brings over 18 years sand blasting experience to your work place. 2.6. Preferred maximum value of work per job. 2.7. Areas of Operation. Normally we operate within a 150 kilometre radius of the Gold Coast however for large contracts we can and have gone beyond this distance. 2.8 Training Skills. Track Record Leading Projects Completed and major Clients. National Blast Pty Ltd (formally Dan s mobile Blasting) was the chosen Abrasive Blast organisation to complete the Abrasive Blasting on the following projects:- a). The Gold Coast light Rail System. b). The Gold Coast University Hospital. Staff are required to undergo our in house training schedule that is completed under the watchful eye of the Managing Director. At the end of the three month training programme the blasters are required to complete an examination prior to attending sites unsupervised. Staff are required to attend all relevant site inductions and sign all Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) prior to work commencing. c). Restoration of Shopping Signage requiring full Encapsulation. d). Recently completed Abrasive Blast of Toilet Block steel structure at Surfers Paradise including full encapsulation and extraction.

e). Architectural finishes required on concrete at Griffiths Universities throughout SE Queensland. f). Abrasive blast a profile to create a none slip surface on tiles at Royal Pines Resort. g) Removal of paint from Hamilton Island resort swimming pool and Griffiths University St Lucia campus Olympic size pools prior to resurfacing. h) Preferred sandblaster for Riveria Australia at the Coomera Marina for removal of antifouling. 3.2 Delivery Performance and reliability. 4.2 Personal Protective Equipment. All staff are required to wear the following at all times:- Safety boots at all times High visibility long sleeve clothing or safety vests, reflective vests for night work. Safety helmets will be worn at all times other than when wearing the blast helmet. Widbrims for sun protection will be worn when necessary. Hearing Protection will be worn by operators at all times when blast unit in operation. Safety glasses must be work at all times. Sunscreen on all unprotected skin when outside during the day. We appreciate the importance of meeting deadlines and are able to schedule work outside normal business hours if required. This assists our customers as the Health and Safety requirements relating to noise and dust is often a major consideration when blasting in public areas. 4.0 Management System and Risk Management. 4.1 Safety Management System. National Blast Pty ltd has a Safety, Health and Environment plan available by request and copies kept in all trucks on site. 4.4 Quality Management System. Throughout the contract the Project Manager is provided with three points of contact. a) The Blaster on site. b). The Administration Officer for any Health and Safety requirements. c) Managing Director to ensure any concerns are addressed from the top. On completion of all major contracts the Management team complete a site inspection. 4.5 Insurances: Joanne Jenkins is responsible for safety providing all Safe Work Method Statements (SWIMS) ensuring all staff are familiar with the statement and follow all procedures to ensure a safe working environment. All staff are required to attend any relevant induction meetings, prestart meeting and tool box meetings and comply with principle contractors site rules (if applicable). 4.6 Risk Management Approach. Strong occupational Health and Safety record since inception. Our policy is preventative is better than cure. We work with our staff and customers to assess possible risks and provide procedures to prevent accidents in the workplace. Our employees take personal ownership of health and safety. Applicable legislation will be complied with when relevant including:- Work Health & Safety ACT 2011 and Regulations 2011. Electrical Safety Act and Regulations. Hazardous Substances Code of Practice 2003. Abrasive blasting Code of Practice 2004 Hazardous Manual Task Code of Practice 2011. How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risk Code of Practice 2011 Managing Noise and prevent heating loss Code Of Practice 2011. Work Health and Safety Consultation, Co operation and Co ordination code of Practice 2011. A copy of our Safety Health & Environment plan is kept in every vehicle and available by request. 5. Customer Service 5.1 Relationship and Communication. Our focus at National Blast has always been on building long-term relationships with our valued clients. We work to establish these relationships and that has resulted in developing mutual trust, expertise and successful projects. 5.2 All staff of National Blast Pty LTD will:- Attend all principle contractors pre-start and toolbox meetings. Will immediately verbally report any injury, near miss or incident encountered. Complete an incident report if applicable. Will have access to a First Aid Kit. All National Blast vehicles are issued with a First Aid Kit. A copy of the risk and control measures are listed in Appendix 8 of the companies Safety, Health & Environment plan. Copies of National Blast Hazard Report Form and Incident Report Forms are available on request and kept in all National Blast Vehicles. 6. Working with Industry and Others. Corporate Social Responsibility. National Blast is a responsible business, taking responsibility for all our actions, social, environmental and ethical. As well as providing local employment and services we support local communities in a number of ways such as supporting local schools and charity donations.
