Daily Announcements May 19 th, 2015 Athletics Baseball Eagle Baseball will play Boerne Champion at Concordia University on the following days; Thursday May 21 st @ 7:30 Friday May 22 nd @ 7:00 Saturday May 23 rd @ 12 Come out and support your Eagle Baseball team! Cross Country Any students interested in running cross country next season will need to stop by the girl s athletic office to pick up summer training information from Coach Richardson. Football The Eagles Blue and White Spring Football Roundup will take place Friday, May 22 nd at the GISD Athletic Complex. This event is the culmination of spring football workouts for the Eagle football teams. As part of the Spring Football Roundup the Eagle Football Boosters have put together activities for the entire family. The JV scrimmage will take place at 5:00 PM. Following the JV scrimmage there will be a 7-on-7 exhibition game between the Georgetown Rush Public Safety Team and the GHS Alumni Team at 6:00 PM. At 6:45 PM the Varsity scrimmage kicks off. During the Blue and White Spring Football Roundup there will be activities for the whole family including inflatable bouncy house, football toss, punt, pass and kick competition and more! After the varsity

scrimmage concludes there will be a free concert in the parking lot just outside the stadium! Music will be classic rock from the 80 s. The Blue Crew student section leaders will be teaching new cheers for the entire crowd at different points during the event. Students are encouraged to attend and get ready to make the GHS Student Section the best in Texas this coming football season. ADMISSION TO ALL EVENTS FOR THE SPRING FOOTBALL ROUNDUP IS FREE! Track and Field Girls All members of the girls track team need to have their equipment turned in to Coach Braun by the end of the week. You can bring your equipment to Coach Braun s classroom room 176 or to his office. Blue Crew T-Shirt Design Contest The Blew Crew Student Spirit organization is hosting a Student Section T-shirt Design Contest for the 2015-16 sports seasons! This shirt will be made available for sale only to GHS students. Students should submit their design to Mr. George or Mr. Fisher by 4:00 PM on May 21 st. The winner will be announced at the Blue & White Spring Football Guidelines for the contest are as follows: 1. All entries must be designed and submitted by a current GHS student who is in good academic standing. 2. Designs should be limited to a single-sided T-shirt design. 3. Artwork can be hand drawn or electronically produced. 4. Entries should consist of images that support Georgetown High School Athletics and should not include derogatory images or phrases regarding other schools or competition. 5. Shirt color can be specified in the design. If not specified it will be assumed the shirt would be Eagle blue. 6. Multi-color designs should be limited to no more than three separate colors. 7. All designs should be in good taste and in no way violate school district policies.

8. All designs become property of the Georgetown Eagles Football Boosters and consent is given by contest entrants for the Football Boosters to use the images without compensation to the person who submits the image. 9. Students who are part of the selection committee are NOT eligible to enter the contest. The winner will be selected by members of the Blue Crew student organization and teacher sponsors of the Blue Crew. Entries will be given a number and the identity of the student submitting the entry will only be known by the sponsor of the Blue Crew until the final selection is made and winner is declared. The winner will receive a their student section shirt free and will also receive a Winner s Gift Pack consisting of assorted Eagle gear and gift cards from local businesses. Artwork should be submitted to Mr. George (Room 530) or Mr. Fisher (Room 521) by 4:00 PM on May 21 st! Class of 2015 Transcripts Information for 2015 Senior s: Final transcripts will not be ready until June 25 th. If your college orientation is prior to this date, provide your college with first semester transcript (they should already have) and your final report card. All transcript requests are handled with Parchment.com. For final transcripts that include spring semester, graduation date, rank and GPA, you may request those in parchment now, however you must mark NEXT GRADING PERIOD. Those request will be filled on June 25 th. Students that earned ACC credit, you MUST request to have your final high school transcript sent to ACC and the college you are attending. ACC will NOT release your transcript without having a copy of your final high school transcript.

During this ceremony, we will build the Senior Class of 2015 from when they entered into the Georgetown ISD school system. The event should last just a little over an hour. After the event, students are released from school to spend the afternoon with family. Since Project Graduation (following Commencement) is tailored to take up all night, we wanted to build in time where parents and relatives can celebrate with their graduate. Project Graduation If you would like to volunteer at Project Graduation, please click on the link below and sign up on Volunteer Spot. Anyone who is involved or wants to be involved in Project Graduation are encouraged to attend. Project Graduation Fundraiser at Which Wich, on Wednesday May 20th from 3pm -9pm. Which Wich supports Project Graduation by giving 25% of proceeds to Project Graduation. Come support our seniors. Mention your there supporting Project Graduation. See you there. Soaring Eagles Softball Congratulations to the Lady Eagle Softball team on capturing the Regional Quarterfinal Championship! After dropping the first game Thursday, the Lady Eagles won 2 games back to back to defeat Leander in their best of 3 series. The Lady Eagles will play Flour Bluff this week in a Regional Semi-Final match up. Stay tuned for more details later this week. The Lady Eagles would also like to congratulate the Eagle Baseball team on their win over San Marcos. Way to go, Eagle Fight Never Dies! Track and Field Boys and Girls 3 members of the Eagle track team competed at the State Track Meet last week. Freshman Jazmin Hernandez placed 6 th in the 3200 meters. Senior Darren Medrano won the bronze medal in the 1600 meters. And Senior JaQwae Ellison is the Texas 5A State Champion in the 800 meters. Please congratulate these runners on an exceptional end to their seasons!
