With the beginning of Christmas break, we enter the Last Days of Advent where we turn our focus and preparations towards the celebrations of the Nativity of our Lord. In the spirit of the season, I want to share with you an appeal that Pope Francis made this past Sunday to the city of Rome and the world: Do not take Jesus out of Christmas! When you pray at home in front of the crib, with your family, allow yourself to be touched by the tenderness of the child Jesus, who was born poor and fragile among us, to give us his love. This is the true Christmas! If we remove Jesus, what remains of Christmas? An empty feast. Do not take Jesus out of Christmas! Jesus is the center of Christmas. Jesus is the true Christmas. Thank you for keeping Christ present in the daily lives of your children and being steadfast in your commitment to Faith First education. May God bless you during this holy season. Peace be with you, Mrs. Megan Glynn This year St. Mary's 9th, 11th, and 12th graders have the opportunity to participate in the Boyne USA Snow Sports Academy. This will be taking place on Thursday, January 18th, 2018. This will be an all-day event where

students will leave school and not return till 6:30 p.m. Please keep an eye out for information and permission slips to come home with your student(s) January 5th. Christmas Break begins at close of school today and runs through January 2, 2018. School will resume Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Enjoy this time with your family! We are inviting all children Pre-K through 3rd Grade to join in walking Baby Jesus up to the manger at the 4pm Christmas Eve mass. Each child is welcome to bring their nativity Jesus and have a blessing from Father Bryan. We will sing Away in the Manger (so any practice at home would be great)! Please meet downstairs by 3:45pm. All students 4th- 12th grade are welcome to sing in the choir loft for the service. Please meet in the choir loft by 3:45pm to sing for the Mass. Any questions please contact Andrea Schaub at 231-256-2632 or Jenn Lamb at 1-231-499-4640.
