First Aid Document Overview Introduction This document is a Quick Start User Guide to the Student First Aid Module, which is a component of Student Welfare within SAS2000 V5.0.938. Intended Audience This document has been developed for Users of the Student First Aid Module within SAS2000. These users may or may not use other modules and functions in SAS2000. There is assumed knowledge of working with Family and Student records within SAS2000, and a basic knowledge of SAS2000. Scope of Document This document provides step-by-step instructions to perform the required functions and tasks to record illnesses and accidents for students. Student First Aid Overview Introduction The First Aid register allows you to enter details for children presenting at sick bay, as well as recording any illnesses or accidents experienced by the student while at school. This is used to record, Illness Accidents Treatments Resolutions Any medical notes Module Location First Aid is located on the PEOPLE menu in SAS2000. Follow the steps in the table below to locate the required functions. 1 Log into SAS2000. 2 Click on the PEOPLE Menu. Result: The PEOPLE menu will drop down. 3 Select FIRST AID. Entering First Aid Records Overview Introduction When a student presents at sickbay or is administered any type of first aid, this is recorded in the First Aid form in SAS2000. These details are recorded and saved to the student record. These can be viewed from the student form. In this Chapter This chapter contains the following topics. Entering First Aid Records Introduction When a student presents at sickbay, or receives any sort of medical treatment, the details are entered into First Aid in SAS2000. by Follow the steps in the table below to enter a First Aid record. 1 Click on the PEOPLE menu. Result: The menu will drop down. 2 Select FIRST AID. Result: The FIRST AID form will open in VIEW mode. Continued on next page Welfare Module First Aid Page 5

Entering First Aid Records, Continued by (continued) 3 Select ADD to change the form to Add mode. 4 Click on the binoculars to select the required Student Name from the STUDENT LOOKUP form. Double click on the required Student Name. Result: The Student Name is return to the FIRST AID form. 5 Enter the following details. Field Description Date Date of illness or accident Time In Time into sickbay Time Out Time left sickbay Location The location where the student had the accident or felt ill. Duty Teacher The teacher on duty at the time the student fell ill. This allows you to select from teaching staff that are set as active. First Aid Administered By Select the Staff Member s name. Illness or Accident Select if it is an illness or an accident. Nature of Illness/Accident These details will change depending upon whether Illness or Accident is selected. Treatment Select the treatment provided to the student. Resolution Select the final resolution. Continued on next page Welfare Module First Aid Page 6

Entering First Aid Records, Continued by (continued) 6 When all details for the illness or accident have been entered, click on SAVE. Result: The First Aid record is saved for the student. 7 If no further First Aid records are to be entered, click on EXIT. Welfare Module First Aid Page 7

Viewing Student First Aid Records Introduction When a First Aid record has been entered for a student, it can then be viewed from their Student form. by Follow the steps in the table below to view a Students First Aid record or history in their Student form. 1 Click on the PEOPLE menu. Result: The menu will drop down. 2 Select STUDENTS. Result: The STUDENT form will open in VIEW mode. Continued on next page Welfare Module First Aid Page 8

Viewing Student First Aid Records, Continued by (continued) 3 Enter the Student Name in FULL NAME field and click on FIND, or press F3 on the keyboard. Result: The students details will appear in the form. 4 Click on the WELFARE minor tab on the right side of the form. Click on the ACCIDENTS AND ILLNESSES tab at the bottom of the form. Viewing Student First Aid Records, Continued by (continued) 5 Click on the yellow folder to the left of the First Aid record to view full details. Result: The First Aid details open in VIEW mode. 6 Click on EXIT to close the FIRST AID form. Click on EXIT to close the STUDENT form. Welfare Module First Aid Page 10

Reporting Overview Introduction A reporting facility is available to access and print First Aid reports. Accidents & Illnesses Report Introduction The ACCIDENTS & ILLNESSES report provides a list of Students and their Illness or Accident details for a given date range. by Follow the steps in the table below to produce the Accidents & Illnesses Report. 1 Click on the REPORTS menu.
