NatureBridge at a Glance Decades of Teaching Environmental Science NatureBridge provides multi-day environmental science programs for K 12 students. We are the largest residential environmental education partner of the National Park Service, delivering programs in nature s most magnificent classrooms including Yosemite, Golden Gate, Olympic, Santa Monica Mountains, Channel Islands, and Prince William Forest. Founded as Yosemite Institute in 1971, and today a national leader in the field, NatureBridge welcomes more than 650 schools and 40,000 participants each year to our six campuses, where they are immersed in the wonder and science of nature. In our first 45 years, we have provided life-changing experiences to over 1 million participants. NatureBridge environmental science programs are built on our evidence-based Core Educational Framework developed in partnership with our Education Advisory Council, chaired by Dr. Nicole Ardoin from Stanford University, and including experts from leading academic institutions. With your help we can do even more to prepare our young people to address the environmental challenges we face today and prepare them for success in the classroom. ChangeScale In 2010, NatureBridge helped launch ChangeScale in partnership with Stanford University, the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, and the Pisces Foundation. The goal of this united group of leading organizations is to improve the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of the field of environmental education. Through ChangeScale, NatureBridge partners to build and document best practices in the field of environmental education, and to ensure that environmental education programs are truly interdisciplinary, ranging from science, technology, engineering, and math to social science, history, and the arts. National Environmental Science Center Construction is underway at NatureBridge s National Environmental Science Center in Yosemite National Park, a permanent, sustainable home for environmental education. This visionary facility will serve as a laboratory for modeling best practices in environmental science, both regionally and nationally, and will promote creative innovation by serving as a space to convene thought leaders.
